A big thing for me about Starlight X Trixie is the way the show usually treats the word "love". Even in the Big Mac & Sugar Belle episode, where they were quite clearly smitten with each other and officially began their relationship... Apple Bloom still corrected herself from saying "love" and changed it to "like a lot". Bright Mac and Pear Butter had been lovingly dating for quite a while by the time Pear sang her song, and it was treated as a big deal that they said "love" about each other for the first time. It's the like the show wants to make distinction between initial attraction for someone, and growing to truly "love" them inside and out. Like it's the deeper next step of a relationship. So for Trixie to say it so casually towards Starlight.... it certainly raises an eyebrow.

I made a comparison between every time the show use the word love (Twilight to Spike,Twilight to the others, Fluttershy saying that all of them love Twilight, Celestia to Luna and Trixie to Starlight), Twi to the girls and Flutter to twi is in a group and I don't think that the show will ever touch the polyamory theme so I'm assuming that it was just a friendship kind of love nothing romantic. Twi to Spike and Celestia/Luna is a family kind of love nothing romantic either. Now Trixie and Starlight could be just friendship too, but the music,Trixie's tone of voice and the fact that Starlight was crying, feels very different that the rest, I maybe could be bias in this topic but that is how it feels for me. And now you bring up a comparison between BM/SB and Bright Mac/Pear Butter (I actually forget tha PB use the word love by the way) and for me it seems like DHX and Hasbro are really trying to create a romantic relationship with Trixie and Starlight. Sorry for my bad english.

Well in all honesty their is a major distinction. To like someone as a girl/boyfriend is to want to become closer in a loving way. But it's only once you've decided you want to be with them to the end that you sat love. Love is a word uses to often. In many cases thats unnecessary; so the absence of it for so long in the show makes its use that much more important.

I personally think it's as close as we're probably going to get for a while to a same-sex relationship on a kids' show. Which I'm fine with. I think that Starlight/Trixie is definitely headcannon for at least a plurality of the writers, but even though I think they're perfect for one another, I'm glad the show goes for subtext instead of shoving it in peoples' faces. LyraBon and Starlight/Trixie are perfectly happy and nobody around them gives a shit, and that's exactly the future I want to see. Maybe I'm just seeing what I want to in this situation. Maybe I just want a world where a mare can love another mare, and people leave them alone.

HEY!!! ....Kites are fun. Particularly when you are at the beach and the water is WAY too cold to swim in. Options for beach entertainment after that are limited to making sandcastles, walking along the water, hunting for shells, and flying a bloody kite. Considering how not all beaches have the right type of sand (yes, this is actually a thing. Some sand just doesn't hold together worth a damn even when you add water), how hard it is to WALK on sand (also how hot sand can get {THE PAIN}), and how hard it can be to FIND shells on some beaches....at least flying a kite is always going to be fun no matter what the rest of the beach is like. Mainly because I have never been to a beach that isn't windy thanks to a lovely weather effect called land-sea transfer (land heats up during the day and wind blows inland from the water, land cools to the point the air over the water is warmer than over land and the flow is reversed). So yeah. Kites = only dependable form of fun one can have on a beach regardless of age.
