Though I am religious myself, I find this animation absolutely amazing and has an interesting take on how we perceive and engage in religion in the real world. The contrast between the "Almighty Eye" and "Mother Eye" 's religions are so very different on the surface but once you see the people in the cages and how everything is set up, you realise how similar they REALLY are. Which I do find true to my own religion as there are some that work much like cults (Almighty Eye) And some that are more peaceful and loving though still have discipline (Mother Eye). I found it amazing to see how much love and thought went into this animation. The art, the music, the tone and the settings, the expressions and the script are all so beautifully done. I hope you all are extremely proud of yourselves, this animation is a work of pure art.

Though the settings are different, its basically the same pointless worship. The grandmother scoffs at how they used to worship a hole in the ground while worshipping.. a star? There's even a hint at the end with both the grandmother and the priest saying "praise the eye" at the same time, and there's still people in cages. Though we can probably assume the "mother eye" religion is better in some ways, the point seems to be that it was just the same ignorant belief.
@nutsandbolts12644 жыл бұрын
As a Christian I do sometimes doubt about religion as a whole, like how much was added on? For example, at some point archeologists found a scripture that described *AND* had *the exact date* of the death of Jesus with it stating "the sun turned black and the clouds surrounded the corpse with harsh winds blowing in in the directions of the people surrounding him." It took lots of effort to find where and when it was written and then they found the date to be very recent to that time. They showed it to the Catholic Church *and they rejected it* because, "it wasn't in date with easter" like WTF. WHY DID THEY REJECT SOMETHING THAT WAS PROVEN TO BE REAL, ALL TO KEEP THEY'RE DAMN RELIGION, so since my history teacher told me that I began to doubt what was actually real that the church told us. Like how much stuff was added on just to justify certain things?

Some films, short or long or animated or whichever format, have a unique quality of making their universe immersive and real for the audience watching them: the Cornfields in Interstellar, the Shire in the Lord of the Rings, Long Island in The Godfather, etc. It is a quality that goes beyond story and character. You feel like you have been to that place. Such was an experience I had from “Blind Eye”. I can recall the sound of the priests voice, the strange accents, the revered hand gesture for the almighty, as if I had been there, done that. If this was the magic from the five minute film, I can only image what would be the outcome of a bigger project. Hats off to you and your colleagues, Rohit Kelkar !! 🙂

Oh my goodness. This animation is beyond words. The music, the writing, and the satisfying sounds are all just pleasing, and are both EYE candy and ear candy. Honestly, i would be so down to watch this as a full fledged movie. The idea of a person that had been sacrificed for disobeying orders, and having to realize that this person had been worshipping something that was far more worthless then they initially thought is very cool. The mere idea of the old religion is very nicely done and makes me ask so many questions, and makes me really want more!
