comment answering some frequently asked questions!! - can I repost this? - NO. Unless you're doing some sort of analysis (reaction video, discussion video,) just posting a small clip, or we otherwise came to an agreement, I do not give permission for Wings to be reposted anywhere. the only "official" places Wings is posted are KZbin, Vimeo, and my personal facebook page. -what are their names/genders? the mouse is Nutmeg and the bird is Bluebell, and they're both girls :D - what program did you use? - TVPaint! - how long did this take? - about a year! It was my senior thesis film at SVA - how did a string end up wrapped around the bird's wing? - i dunno, it happens sometimes with fishing line

Have you seen Burrow? I don't even bring it up to claim that one is better than the other, but they are similar and are both stunning in their own ways. I don't get the modern day assertion that the entirety of Disney is somehow artistically bereft.
@Remyfox819 Жыл бұрын
It's primarily due to Disney's current obsessiveness over political pandering. Rather than focusing on good stories, characters and ideas, Disney is completely focused on identity politics, diversity and anything that fits the narrative of Twitter users. Pandering to these people has resulted in their films bombing again and again and losing money tremendously in the process. I haven't seen this Burrow, but I will look it up later.
@matthewjones6786 Жыл бұрын
@@Remyfox819 Ah, that makes sense, and I often agree! I don't defend the company, its business practices, or its ethics, I just find myself defending their artists. I dunno, I guess it seems a shame to write off Disney when there's so much passionate work and meaningful art even beneath the politics or an overall bad product. Anyway, Burrow and a lot of the other Disney shorts are pretty cool, the artists seem to have more freedom to experiment. Also highly recommend Loop, which I feel is a great instance of inclusivity done right. :)

@@otilialefey8514 then what were you watching? It's about courage, bravery, kindness, friendship, gratitude, wishing, joy and happiness. You must be very young and nieve. Don't know if you ever heard the Aesop's story about "The Lion & the Mouse". The animation's overall concept is like that Aesop's story. As for friendships lasting forever is an extremely rare thing. As you age the friends you made makes new friends and so do you. This process is always ongoing which is a part of life. In the animation I'm sure their friendship will last until something ends it like no food for one of them so one has to leave to find food or water. Distance is usually a real killer to end friendships and relationships. The other variable to end a friendship is death. So the reality here is very real.

I miss traditional animated movies 💛 the hand drawn artwork felt more “authentic” and personal with the stories One of my favorite Disney movies also seems to be the last traditionally animated movie they’ve made: Treasure Planet. Let me tell you that birds do help their companions as much as they can but the true fact is that once a bird damages its wing there's almost zero possibilities he will sur vive. But let me tell you something el se. When a bird is caught by an animal all kind of birds go down and put their life in danger to help him. The next day they will still be angry and sad and you can observe how they keep yelling at the predator or stay nearby maybe waiting for their friend to show up. They' ll keep doing this for who knows how much time. The whole scene is heartbreaking.
