Great video! Super cool getting a digital tour. I LOVE that your business takes time to focus on culture and health. More businesses should be doing this. Health, and happiness definitely effects work performance and not nurturing this side has terrible consequences. As artists, or creatives in general, we spend most of our hours of the day working at a desk or driving to work. Our bodies are not meant to be sedentary for so long and not moving for hours everyday can have really bad effects in the long run. I speak from experience as switching to a sit-down art job has caused back issues and a brittle low spine. This can cause problems walking or sitting for long periods of time, which means less art and design. Moral of the story, if you take care of your health and maintain happiness, the work you do definitely will be effected positively. I hope more businesses catch on to this not so secret solution. :)

Hey! I was the one that asked for this kind of video! Don't know if you remember me haha Anyway, thank you so much for doing this, we really got a good sens of the vibe in the office! I had two question, how does overtime work? You said at 5 everyone need to get up and talk to people etc. When do they get to leave, 5 seems at the end of the day. My second question is that everyone seems so serious and concentrated, is there a lot of stress and tight deadlines because they don't seem that relaxed (maybe they are just shy?). Thanks!

Joe Shmoe I remember you. I keep my promises. We work from 10-7. No need for overtime most days. We don't work weekends unless it's an emergency. I don't think people are stressed out. They just don't like to be on camera.

hey thank you for answering and keep your promis! I've become a fan of this channel and love your work! :) That is such odd and cool work hours! I worked in an agency because and all overtime was never paid or giving back, if you don't mind what is your policy for overtime work and what do you think about agencies that don't pay overtime (even if it's a few hours here and there)...I get that they are a small business trying to make money, but at the end of the day it always seem to me a bit harsh. Lastly, if people leave exactly at 7 sharp is that considered bad or do people tend to stay a bit more to prove their worth or to avoid any confrontation

some days people leave earlier and somedays they stay a little later. for the most part, it's pretty empty here at 7pm. except for the team that works on the show. we try to keep the hours to be around 40 hours a week so that we don't have to deal with overtime.

Hey Chris! At what point did you decide to get an office space for your business? Did you work from home at some point or always had the funding to have an office? Was it more of a step of faith (considering overhead, lack of staff/clients in the beginning) with the mentality of "if you build it, they will come"? When does someone know when the right time is to move into an office space and try to expand, build a team, etc.? Could you speak more about your early days in regards to building up to the type of office you have now?

i'm working on mapping out my journey to design in another video segment: Origin of Blind. I'll cover my experiences at school, and every studio space i've ever been in. DTLA and Venice were live/work situations. Once we had enough clients and predictable revenue stream, i signed (the biggest decision of the business at the time) a 5 year commercial office lease. it was a 3k foot studio in Santa Monica. We spent over 100k to build out the space. That was a big gut check move.

Hi Chris, as I said in the previous chat via messenger, I'm at a point in my career where I came to realize that working hard can only bring you that far, but "working smart" however is the only ticket to the elite league. And what you just said there (from 36:35 to 38:04) is how to get that ticket.

i have some process, BTS photos of it. we hired an acoustical wall treatment specialist. His name is Allan Fineman Padded Walls. Foam, and then fabric over it.
