@@MisterJ56 Floor Jansen for example :D Ich liebe die Niederlande.

Blind Guardian is a German metal band from Krefeld and Meerbusch, formed in 1984. Until 2020 the band sold more than 3 million records The earlier albums can be classified as speed metal; Michael Rensen of Rock Hard described Battalions of Fear as a "[s]tark, punky-raw speed metal debut with mostly good songs, some of which already come along with a touch of complexity." He attested the follow-up Follow the Blind a thrash impact, with which the band departed from Helloween etc., and Tales from the Twilight World was "the best German melodic speed/thrash metal album of all time." With Somewhere Far Beyond, the band succeeded in "maintaining the 'Tales' level and at the same time opening up new stylistic territory through bombast and folk elements". Characteristic of Blind Guardian today are complex polyphonic guitar arrangements and fancy effects and playing techniques. The structure of their pieces is almost free of repetition. The more recent albums (especially since A Night at the Opera) can therefore also be attributed to progressive metal, although the band's origins in (orchestral) speed metal are still recognizable. This development is particularly well recognizable in the song And Then There Was Silence, which is the highlight of A Night at the Opera. By now, according to Rensen, the band is "playing in their completely own speed/thrash/ombast metal league." The lyrics often deal with themes from fantasy literature, especially The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien. Furthermore, the band lyrically picks up works by Stephen King, Frank Herbert, Walter Moers and Michael Moorcock, among others. Historical, social and religious themes are also addressed. Especially on their album A Twist in the Myth, there are also more abstract themes such as the importance of change and dreams. The Bard's Song (In the Forest) exists in several recordings: among others, as the original version on Somewhere Far Beyond, as the first live version on The Forgotten Tales, as a newly recorded single from 2003 and as an orchestral version on the best-of album Memories of a Time to Come. Since its release, the song has been considered a kind of band anthem, sung almost entirely by fans at concerts, which is why the band regularly released other versions A legend says that if you walk through Wacken on a full moon night and are completely silent you can still hear the crowd singing "Valhalla". Best regards from Germany

In case you wanna know what he's saying in German: At the beginning: "Wacken, we'll be happy to take this with us. I would also like to let you scream longer, unfortunately we have little time left. We want to spend that with music, of course. I think most of you will know what's next. Has been legendary here time and time again. I have a feeling you will top this today." Between the songs, after the YOU ARE FUCKING CRAZY: "Wacken, I hardly dare to say: YOUR ARE EVEN HOTTER/COOLER THAN USUAL! We had a great time up here, we always enjoyed coming to Wacken. At some point it's time to move on. The time has come now. I'll see you somewhere." LET'S GET CRAZY FOR A LAST TIME! ... At the end of Valhalla, before the crowd takes over: "Looks great, sounds great. I think Magnus (Marcus - the guitarist) has worked enough, we can now bring Frederik (the drummer) into play. For that, YOU SHOULD SING A LITTLE LOUDER!" And during the singing of the crowd he screams: some word I can’t understand, no matter how hard I try 🤔 (somebody told me she hears “beindruckend/impressive”).. "give me everything" .. "mega" .. "the last three" .. again something I can’t hear properly (the same somebody hears “jetzt aber (the literal translation would be “but now”, in this context something along the lines of “come on” would fit better though)”. I think I can hear the “jetzt/now” now, but still not what comes after that.. "sing/knock us off the stage"

these two songs are long time fan favorites as you can see from the whole crowd singing along in time. as for this event, there was around 80,000 people who attended and the whole town had to assist. for their comments that they were making to the crowd, They were speaking german, which is translated to the word Deuche in that language. The songs themselves are written in english. Although there was definitely one of the worlds largest attendance, everyone was known as being extremely friendly because all of these people were there to have a good time and enjoy the music that they all had in common.

In german, Germany is called Deutschland :D So the connection between the word dutch and Deutschland is easy to make if you would have read the word "deutsch" from someone, which means german :)

"Pennsylvania Dutch" means "Pennsylvania Deitsch" (Deitsch = Deutsch), because they emigrated from the Palatinate in Germany.

dude the lyrics in these two songs are for people who love history and frp books. if you think metalheads are singleminded people who are just into people from where they are born you are wrong. most metalheads i've met are fluent in at least two languages and they visit other countries to meet like-minded people whenever they get the chance. and most of them don't text or say obviously dumb stuff when they are listening to music. they generally tend to experience the moment rather than doing other sh*t. plus, i don't want to shame you guys but if had educated ears you'd be amazed what's going on musically in a live performance like this. there are reactions to this by literal opera singers or lifetime musicians. see how impressed they are. cheers.
