Amazing Andre!! Always giving us a piece of his soul in every solo. This amp looks like an ENGL savage, i think he's not recording through the JCM900 or the TSL60 this time. I love that guitar!! @HellBoyDestiny I doubt they "call" themselves anything. I think they just play the music they want to play, and as usual the industry and fans assign a label to it. It's interesting, what he's picking right after the breakdown in the beginning sounds a lot like a blues/jazz bit. Pretty cool, especially since one of my friends is always blah blah blah about how metal guitarists can't play blues.

sounds very nightfallish. great!! of course most of the solos in metal are composed and not improved. metal is very similar to classical music. metal guitarits dont only use pentatonic notes, but much more difficult scales,higher tempo,... composed solos are much more better if you want to tell a story, in my opinion, and improved solos are better if you "just" like to show a lot of emotion. in fact i like both ways, but concerning metal i really like composed solos more than improved ones.

That's actually why I love him. His solos get stuck in your head, and you can actually remember the melody. Stuff like Van Halen is cool to listen to, but I never remember anything of it.

What comes out of their studio strives to be the pinnacle of music, and gets damn close. André WILL improv his stuff...LIVE. Studio work should attempt to create the best sound possible, taking as much time as needed to do so. ALL HAIL THE BARDS!

how come they are recording in the control room guitars?.....where are the amps ...are they writing digital?

They either rec the clean sound of the guitar and then reamping it when the edit is complete (the distortion sound that they hear during the recording could be from a software amp simulator) or they have their amps in the recording room and they root the signal through a wall box. In this case I think they use the second method.
