I was at a Newsboys concert in Indianapolis, maybe 2003? and the crowd kept singing the chorus of "He Reigns." Eventually each member of the band stepped silently off stage until only the drummer was left. Then when he left we still kept on singing for a minute or two, until enough of the crowd got off tempo or stopped long enough for the moment to be over. But it was an amazing shared moment.

I like that kinda calm vocalist and the whole band. And only those simple black clothes on! U don't always have to jump like some crazy cat at the stage! The anger and the hate and the mighty powerful force works also that way...
@A_Ducky8 жыл бұрын
+toho71 Right on! And people have actually criticized this performance (the entire show) for exactly that! Also notice how none of them have tattoos, or metal "gear" (clothing or accessories with spikes & such). I have nothing against that, I wear it myself sometimes... but for Blind Guardian all that is unnecessary. Their music speaks for itself. This show is a truly amazing performance that'll be remembered by the lucky ones who were there and watched by us who only have it on DVD for years to come. The fact that they don't use any "frills" to prove their "metal-ness" just adds to the awesomeness of this band. They don't need all that extra stuff. They are great at what they do and their music is what ultimately makes Blind Guardian one of the greatest metal bands of all time. Also, any band can just dream of such a crowd as they have here & consistently whenever they play festivals such as Wacken (just see Wacken 2007, where over 70 thousand people sing "The Bard's Song" with them). If that doesn't immortalize a band - I don't know what does!

Yeah, calm down now everything ok with u?!
@A_Ducky8 жыл бұрын
Wout V No dude, they definitely don't have only "bardish" songs... in fact, most of their discography is heavy metal. They headbang, play some of the baddest riffs in metal history, etc. But for them, the music is the main point, not this whole "metal" image which most of the other heavy metal bands try sooooo hard to potray (and end up looking like they try way too hard, thus failing). Guys are living proof that you don't have to "look" metal to "be" metal. It's in your heart. Blind Guardian all the way :)
