Mouth full of cavities might be my favorite but with good bands like them and Nirvana and SP, etc its hard to have a favourite jam bc all the sht they put out is good. @@NathanSummers2050 Soundgarden is Hands down my favorite. I love AiC, STP, Pearl Jam and Nirvana. But Blind Melon is my 2nd favorite band to jam to. I actually discover them super late. Last year was when I did. I've showed my GF and she likes them. I grew up different then her, course. Anyway, So I like this music a lot more. I'm actually a music head. She could care less about music. She likes it but she could care less. I grew up listening to music. (Don't mean to sound like I'm rambling on I just wanna share this) I was born April 3rd 96. A year before this dude passed. Dont mean to sound like I'm saying in born in the wrong era or whatever. I dont feel like that. I'm a 90s baby and I'm jamming to Willie Nelson to Blind Melon. Love it. Have a great day dude.

"Dear 'Ol Dad" Come now and listen babe I gotta reason why I behave Like a child with a light in eyes Running naked on a cold winter night I am like a pigeon that is spreading it's wings to fly away to better things Like a hammer that has made a dent in every little single cent you've spent Said oh God you've got to help me a little bit you've got to have a relief file for me Now I know I'm always right, that's a thought that never even crossed my mind Don't touch me there, I've gotta be pure So smack that hand, and read this verse So I wrecked your life, what the heck My new found faith will pay by check This life's took a toll on my soul So this is me and that's my song And I guess that you can see that we don't get along I've shut the doors on what we had so now she can sleep with her Dear ol' Dad my eyes are dry and my hands are clean and I can't believe all the things I've seen Oh My God

I don´t know why this one has so few views, this song is one my favorites (well, I love almost all BM songs), I remember watching MTV Brasil always waiting for this video when all they played was No Rain, Tones of Home os Change (love them all, but I had never seen Dear Ol´Dad, only knew there was a video for it). I wrote a letter to MTV asking for this video and they read it and played it. I miss the 90´s! Love Shannon and Blind Melon forever! 💗

I agree I think Blind Melon was best live they performance at the Much music venue on live TV was one of the best in my opinion also the live at the metro show in Chicago was just fucking epic no doubt and both of those was a month before Shannon died. But of course I was blessed to see them at Woodstock 94 let me say everybody there was talking about them until later on when the red hot chili peppers was but I mean the rest of melon thought it was a bad show because of the difficulty in the sound they couldn't hear what they was playing but Shannon blew the fucking trees out the ground man tripping with his gfs dress on it was epic I didn't know what the fuck was going on at first I am not sure anyone did until later on from the press.

+Desiree Gonzalez according to a site: 120minutes.tylerc.com, this video played on 120 Minutes on April 5, 1992 and I still remembered it the next fall when the album was released (I was a HS Student- taped the show overnight and watched fave bits for months after). Tones of Home had also played by then but I still had a soft spot for this song. The "bandwagon" I speak of was when "No Rain" blew up so big the next summer.

+Nonsuch Ned Thanks for the link. I have all that stuff on VHS as well, I really need to transfer it. I have a couple Denver shows they did. I was in high school too. Rare to find people from way back then! What cracks me up about No Rain is the bass player wrote that before he was even in the band. I'm sure you know, but that's why that song is so different. He also did most of Tones of Home.

I'm getting more into Blind Melon. I always liked them, but the focus at the time was more on the Seattle scene, and I ended up just listening to their radio hits at the time. This was what was left of the LA via Indiana, guns n Roses scene. Guns n Roses always was my favorite, and Blind Melon is better than any of the Seattle bands. The music is just more complex and Shannon's a more creative singer with a better range. It's sad he went the way he did. At the time there seemed to be such a groundswell of talent and creativity, in rock in general. But so many of these talents have died now. And when people die, they take that with them, and it's made for a world that's far less beautiful than when they were in it, and for less talented voices to be featured, who really have nothing to say.
