The thing that kills me most about that ending sequence is the parallel between Vander being Silco's brother and betraying him and then Vi leaving Powder. That's just raw shock on his face and he genuinely empathizes with her when she says "She is *not* my sister anymore," I love this episode so much.

Thank you, it's always nice to know that I am not the only one absolutely and horribly obsessed with this show. I don't know how many times I have watched it. I've watched it 3x with TBSkyen's running audio commentary. I have watched an absurd amount of reaction channels to the show........I'd have to estimate that I have watched the show without any of that at least 30 times. Arcane is the greatest show of any kind that I have ever seen. It was a battle for me to place it above Firefly........Firefly was fun. Arcane is better in everything else. I'm a 43 year old man........the show breaks me more the more I watch it. I don't know how to explain it. I love it! When it aired it was the first time I subscribed to Netflix......I am still subscribed mainly due to my knowing that I will have to watch it again. When it first aired I watched it twice and then once with TB. I don't find interest in other shows now.

This whole series is an amazing masterpiece. My dad is 67, the last videogame he played was Wing Commander Privateer more than 25 years ago, he doesn't usually even consider animated shows or movies - I told him that this show was incredible and that it was animation for an adult audience, that he should watch it, that even not knowing the game would actually make it even better... he LOVED it! He even rewatched it to see the details he missed. Someone who wasn't anywhere near the "target audience" fell in love with the show, wants more, and has rewatched the show with friends and family to show them how amazing it was. If that doesn't speak to how amazing of a job they did, I don't know what does.

Arcane's best strength is how it twists/subverts expectations. Everyone thought the bedroom scene was the last time Powder&Vi see each other, nope. Everyone expected her bombs to finally work, yes, but not the way you expected. Vander, Claggor and Milo almost escaped only to be turned on its head. One scene later in particular feels so obvious but it subverts expectations. Shark expecting "I am Jinx" just feels too obvious for this show.

I disagree. Its biggest strenght is how very human it is. No one is truely a hero nor a villain, everyone have valid cause for their actions, not saying theyre always justified but you understand them, you get WHY even if you disagree. Everything is in moral scales of gray and it makes it feel so insanely real. Being unpredicable IS indeed a very big strenght, but it would mean very little without the humanity in it.

This is the most tragic part. For one if she hadn't set it off at all, they would likely have gotten away since Claggor got the wall broken down and Milo just opened the last lock keeping Vander down. But, had she just set off one of the stones it would still have had been ok, it would have knocked the monster guy away, maybe destroyed the door to their room but not much else. It could have still been seen as her helping and not fucking it all up. It's the fact she put all of the stones in the Monkey Bomb that caused the disaster, the chain reaction ruined everything.

I'm still under the impression that his strength ran out because of the knive in his guts. I've also heard people say that he couldn't do it because of his regretful attempt to kill Silco years ago, but how could he get any more motivated to kill Silco than when his kids are threatened for their life?

And the worst part is that Milo FREED Vander, Claggor BROKE the wall and found an exit, Vi LOCKED the door giving them time to escape. They would have escaped if not for Powder. Yeah, Milo&Claggor aren't LoL characters, they don't exist, they are Arcane original. I feel like a lot of people don't realize Powder saw her parents and dozens of other people killed in front of her as well astop of living in slums fighting to survive. On top of already seemingly having mental health issues. That mental breakdown was visceral.

I think it LOOKS like they would have, which is tragic, but I don't think so. Deckard had already destroyed most of the door latch, the only reason it wasn't completely destroyed was vi pushing on it. The moment she moved away, he would have destroyed it. The only reason he stopped was the monkey distracted him. Which is doubly tragic to me, because had Powder used only the monkey, sans crystals- the thing SHE created in its entirety- it would have still distracted without destruction, and they would have made it out alive.

Its rather unlikely they wouldve gotten away tho. Vi was in really bad shape even before the explosion and Vander wasnt in peak condition either. Silcos crew were like 10 people and had a shimmer beast with them. I agree their chances wouldve been *better* but still not very good.

The only reason Vi survived is because Vander broke her fall with his body - which was broken in the process. And. crucially, ShimmerVander would not have been able to break through the wall and save Vi if Claggor had not broken the wall. If Powder didn't do what she did, Deckard would've broken in and murdered everyone in there. Vander would not have put up nearly the same fight that he did after seeing Milo and Claggor dead beneath the rubble.

FINALLY. Waiting for this since episode 1 got uploaded felt so long, especially when I just KNEW your reaction wouldn't disappoint. It'll never cease to be impressive just how well this show builds up to that Powder and Vi scene in only three episodes; at this point the viewer hasn't spent a whole lot of time with the cast yet feels familiar enough with everyone and their wants to where that scene is just heartbreaking enough to hook you into the show for good. And of course this is the point where most non-league players are sold on it as well lol

I remember when I first started the series, i nearly didn't continue with episode 2 because i thougt "Meh, feels kind of predictable, Vi is gonna become more and more radicalised and Powder is gonna be the one trying the diplomacy route, since she is more braniy then brawny" but I was mildly intrigued enough to continue. I did _not_ see this coming. I have never played a game of LoL ever, i didn't know who Jinx was so this caught me so, _so_ hard by surprise, you cannot imagine. I think the most heartbreaking thing is, that they might hve made it. Clagger had just opened the Wall, Milo had gotten Vander out, the door hadn't broken... they may have made it.

When they were releasing arcane they released it in 3 acts. So the first 3 episodes are act 1 and so everyone got left on this absolute banger of an episode and had to wait for act 2 to come out LOL I was marking off the days until the new episodes would come out. They know how to pace everything really well and keep you hooked. The first episode of an act really sets up the focus and then the second episode of the act is an expansion leading up to the climax of a conflict. Then they use the third episode of the act to hit you with the climax of everything it was building up to. You will not be disappointed by the direction of the show. Also, yes, the show is in its own universe basically because it doesnt follow the strict canon from the game. It's very close and is accurate enough in most instances. They're calling it the LOL Cinematic Universe and it might include a live action show at some point, but we don't know what that will be about yet. Still really exciting for die hard fans and casual fans who are just into arcane at this point. Exactly like how the MCU drew in people who didn't read comics and made its own version of the marvel universe. I do not play League (I value my sanity), but I love the lore and so having even more story to enjoy is a treat.

Adding on while listening to your thoughts: Vi definitely wasn't going to abandon Powder, but when she saw the blood on her hand from hitting her she knew she had to distance herself to regain composure. This is a healthy thing to do, but Powder has been shown to be heavily co-dependent on Vi with abandonment issues and there's even the full panic attack scene earlier in the episode when Vi leaves with Milo and Clagger to save Vander. Silco showing up couldn't have been predicted so when Powder was under the impression Vi had abandoned her it made perfect sense how she clung to the first person to show up and she didn't know that Silco was technically responsible for all the hurt her family suffered. Btw Silco is an amazing character! So complex and has clear motives for everything he does despite being the antagonist.

"Monkey Bomb"... it instantly kills the two lowest level characters on your team, inflicts damage of 80% current health to the other two members of your team, stuns Jinx for 10 seconds, and hits the highest level character of the opposing team for 25% max health and stuns them for 0.5 seconds.

Arcane is a show in its own universe while using League of Legends characters. The story of Arcane is a bit different from what it is in the lore of LOL, but they are still using like the general idea of the characters from the game. Similar, but still different and seperate.

"This is one of the best episodes...of anything." Yeah man. I couldn't believe what the hell I was watching when I first saw it. Honestly, part of me still can't believe it. Arcane is a masterpiece man. If I had to sum the show up - not the theme of the show or the message - but the product itself, I'd call it "courage" taking the form of a television show. This show just had so many ways it could've taken the path well-traveled...and it almost never does. This show walks the walk man. It looks at other people's screenplays and laughs. It looked at Game of Thrones and said "Your shit is weak." It takes your heart and rips it right the fuck out, it takes your mind and punches it right the fuck out. Then it offers its bloody hand to you and asks, "You want more?" It's glorious. It's beautiful. It's heartbreaking. It's Arcane.

What I really liked about how they did this episode was how they just changed the tone of the series starting from the first scene. And it went downhill from there. Episodes 1 and 2 looked more like it would be almost an adventure type series with the core group, and this one just blew that up entirely. No pun intended.

A bit late to comment here, but here I go: I wanted to share a beautiful detail, in my opinion. When Powder's violet eye is seen through Silco's arms, It's supposed to mirror the painting "The fallen angel". The painting shows Lucifer while being cast out of paradise; he sheds a tear, and his expression is absolutely IDENTICAL to that of Powder there. It's an absolutely neat and wonderful image to perfectly portray what she was feeling in that moment. The loss of her paradise, thanks to her own hands.

The reason why Silco wants Piltover and Zaun to unite as one cause Originality Zaun is the "True" city back then and Piltover is just one of his many districts. ZAUN was the heart of trading of Runeterra, that merchants around the world go to Zaun to do a business, but because they need to travel half of the world by sailing so they come up a plan to make a tunnel underground connecting to the other part of the world which greatly benefit them because of how small the distance to it compared to sailing distance. by blowing TNT beneath the terrain where the city located they miscalculated it and the city collapse and half of it fall and submerged in the water killing thousands of people and the underground emits toxic and fumes . And the other half of the city remains on top and it's now called Piltover ,many years passed by the residents of the underground become poor cause the trades becomes very low because how badly the underground turned and merchants around the world went to Piltover as an easy-go-to ,which makes Piltover rich and zaun become poorer making crimes go up and etc..

I'd say Jinx is overall the main character. The whole story is about her. Vi more or less had her character development within the first 3 episodes, but for Jinx the development is only just beginning.

@@lockekappa500 Perhaps doubt it won't be about jinx as well. What side will vi fight on her goals seem to not change. Although I don't like vi so much as people give her the title of natural leader when she is a terrible leader, like vander.

Season 2 is confirmed to be in the works. Btw the lores of the game and the show run differently (aren't completely connected), which means that playable characters don't necessarily have plot armour. Fun fact, Powder's VA was 10 when they filmed this scene. She's approaching 17 now

Man! I feel like everyone watched this episode and was like "oh wow, this just got real. I can't wait to see where this goes." and moved on. But personally, this episode was the best episode of the series. Certainly the last 15 minutes were the most memorable part of the show for me. I'm glad to see someone really thoroughly enjoy this part for what it is and not just talk about how it's sad and wondering what the show will do next.

The little tiny detail of powders eye at the end where she looks so angry but the tears are welling up in her eyes because shes just so hurt and broken is enough to make me tear up every time by itself but yeah this show is golden and this episode is so killer

The screenplay for the last scene with Vi and Powder is so good. Definitely worth a read
