We needed this episode a long time ago, but I'm glad we got it now; definitely in my top three for the whole series. Seeing Celestia and Luna just being themselves is always a highlight and we got a sister song to boot. Also, shout out to Fancy Pants who we haven't really seen in ages. To me, the only downfall in this episode is Twilight. Kinda a step backwards having to learn about accepting help when SHE was the one who taught AJ that in Applebuck Season. Though it's not the focus of the episode, so it doesn't affect the adorable Celestia/Luna moments too much.

Remember guys, Twilight's IQ dropping by 80 when Celestia is involved has been a very unchanging part of her character since Season 1. It's not about her being smart or knowing what a commitee is, it's about her putting Celestia to such a tall pedestal that she thought Celestia organising everything in the castle by herself made any kind of sense. The rest is clouded judgement because of her desire to prove herself.

For a mid season finale, this one was very good and fun! It’s good to know that the events of the season premiere rekindled the Royal sisters’ desire to help with a crisis that comes around(it might be good for what will come later with Grogar’s evil plot). Aside from that, I found the time spent with Celestia and Luna very enjoyable here, just as it was back in “A Royal Problem.” I like how we were able to see them out and about, wearing casual outfits and doing all sorts of activities outside Canterlot. They have some of the best character moments in the series and I appreciate the fact that they and the writers bring a lot to the plate for every story that focuses on them. Also, I like Celestia and Luna’s first duet together, it’s a good song. Cool reaction too, RarityDash!

I love RD’s intro, hyping up this “huge, epic” episode, something comic book-ish. And then it’s a very delightful slice of life vacation ep with the sisters. Though not surprising if you know Gail Simone’s work. She does do action and epic plot lines well, but she’s also well known for her character arcs and just heroes talking to each other like normal human beings. Good at the emotional, personal stuff. And, she’s a fan of the show. Not a closet brony, but she let it slip a while back that she’s watched the show, and DHX reached out to her to see if she wanted to guest write an episode.

I love this episode and it's like the road to friendship episode when Starlight and Trixie were having the best road trip at the start then when they couldn't become happy and good friends also roommates they were acting like they want to be apart from each other just like Celestia and Luna but the sister had even good fights that made them be separated from thousand years it's tough on them getting along but their trying to make the best of it.

Celestia and Luna wanted to spend some time out of the castle. They both had vacation ideas but Celestia's ideas were tiring for Luna, and Luna's ideas were boring for Celestia. If they have reached a compromise they wouldn't have argued. Twilight and her friends are happy to take the princesses places, but they are inexperienced. Even Canter Zoom told Juniper that she has no experience to play Daring Do, but I hope there's going to be an Equestria Girls special where Canter is going to give Juniper another chance. A shame you didn't get into comics, but honestly, they are pretty pricey. I recommend trade paperbacks-- especially if you can get them used from the library, 2nd and Charles, used book stores, etc. A good deal (certainly better IMO than monthlies) and you (usually) get a complete story. Plus, you can thumb through it before buying to see if it looks like something you'd be interested in! :)

The only part about this episode I didn’t like was the handling of Fancypants. The writer made him a jerk for no real reason, especially to Rarity. One would think him finding Twilight’s dress in Sweet and Elite “lovely” meant he didn’t have impossibly high standards, so him treating Rarity’s decorations like garbage felt out of character.

He was the apparent head of the committee for the event and he had been shoved aside by a princess and her friends who clearly had no idea what they were doing. I think he's actually justified in being irritated with them. It's less to do with his standards and more to do with him knowing they're doing it wrong but not being in a place to really challenge the princess in charge directly over it.
