It's not just talent. There is no question, of course he's talented. But do not underestimate the skill and physical effort required to perform these covers. He's dedicated hundreds, probably more like thousands of hours to develop both the physical stamina and co-ordination, but also the techniques he uses take time to develop to this level of proficiency. If you watch his early stuff, to the stuff he does now, you can see his progression in that period of time as he keeps working to get better. The reason he is so good, is he is like Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant in terms of mindset when it comes to practice. His work ethic, combined with his talent for rhythm control and orchestration, and his humble attitude that keeps him dedicated to the practice room is the reason he's great. I think people do people like him a disservice when they just say he's talented, because it ignores the amount of hard work and dedication to his craft, without which talent cannot truly flourish. The very greatest aren't just talented, they are an incredibly rare combination of talent, work ethic, and mindset to get better. Jorge's one of those :)

Anyone who trash talks and dislikes this guy is simply jealous of his skills. They don´t think about the countless hours that went into perfecting his craft. And this is something that only a few drummers can commit themselves to. El Estepario is brilliant and in my opinion the best drummer out there - no matter what genre. I hope he is the new drummer for Slipknot. It was a brilliant idea to have two drumsticks in his belt and then pull one out when he did that double-stick hit on the hi-hat. Then I think he drops the stick on the floor when he´s back to the beat he did earlier. Not just a fantastic drummer but also a great entertainer.

I think, those people who says bad things about Jorge Garrido (El Estepario Siberiano), have not seen that one video, where he tells about his interest in getting technically better all the time. Love to hear you bring that point out to people. Jorge likes plaing drums - and to explore EVERYTHING he can possibly DO with drums. .... which is a LOT. He trains for hours and hours. He wants to show, what can be done with drums, he is not that interested in being a part of a band that makes great music - helping the rest of the band keep the rythm/beat. And he is a GREAT talent. Love watching your reactions, as they remind me of my own. Awe. 👍👍👍

Maybe a bit out off subject, but try to search for E.S.T. A Swedish trio that really did it 10-12 years ago, when Esbjörn Svenson still was alive, he sadly enough died in an accident. The track, 'When God created the coffee break' is just one of many great songs from their hand. I know it's old recordings but it's still really update, modern jazzy and heartfelt kind of components...if that's a thing 😅 off cause Esbjörn is driving it, but it's together they create the vibe...hope to see Your reaction on this track.

I think the commentator missed how he's hitting the right hand high hat from the top and the bottom. He mentions it but he's paying more attention to the pedal work. He's not hitting the top of the high hat on the down stroke and then hitting it on the bottom as he returns the stick back above the high hat. He has two sticks in his right hand that he's holding like scissors, one above and one below the high hat, so he can hit notes even faster by just rattling them up and down instead of having to keep passing one stick back and forth from the top to the bottom the high hat. So where/when does he get the extra stick into his right hand??? If you notice at the beginning of the video he has two sticks in his waistband. At the end he has none. How does he get an extra stick into his right hand while drumming with hardly anyone even noticing??? It's sick, it's while his right hand stick is flipping in the air. Right before he starts the top and bottom high hat sequence he does one of his usual right hand stick tricks where he flips his stick in the air and then catches it again. But this time while the stick is in the air he passed the stick he has in his left hand to his now empty right hand, then he catches the flipping stick with his right while pulling a stick from his waistband with his left hand... giving him two sticks in his right and a new one in his left again. He then keeps drumming seamlessly, getting double the hits on the high hat with the two sticks in his right hand. But if you're just watching casually he's going so fast it can look like he still has just one stick so the whole thing goes unnoticed. At the end of the high hat sequence he just drops one from his right hand and keeps drumming with one stick in each hand until right before the next high hat sequence, and then does the same trick again, flipping his right hand stick in the air, passing his left hand stick to his right hand, recatching the spinning the stick in his right hand so his right hand now has two, and pulling the 2nd and last stick out of his waistband with his left hand. I know I've never seen anything like that before. And it all happens so fast even the commentator appears to have missed it.

I have no idea how to play drums or any other instrument but I can tell that what he is doing is extremely hard, he is using both hands and feet independently, each one doing something different with perfect precision and that is amazing. And if you want to catch everything that he is doing you have to watch the video multiple times because for example if you’re looking at the foot cam you’re probably missing that he’s doing a stick flip when he takes a 3rd one and hits the thing I guess what you call a high hat on the right then he drops it so quick that the camera barely caught it.

@@michaelstergiou9951 No, he's hitting the hi-hat from both sides(up and down) using the 2 sticks, so it becomes a faster rythm hi-hat

The haters don't hate.... They're demoralized because he makes them face the reality that compared to what's possible they just simply do not measure up no matter how good they have gotten...... That's what happens when the game changer shows up. They make you face the reality that you're nowhere near Becoming a master of the instrument.

First time I saw him do this song I just thought it was amazing. Second time I noticed at the start that he had 2 extra sticks in his pants but didn't think more about it. Then towards the end they were gone and I was like "what happened?". Had to go back and watch it again. The switch was so fast that I totally missed it the first time. And that's while going crazy with his feet at the same time 👍👍👍

I think you were too focused on the foot cam and didn’t realize that he actually grabs a second stick to play those hihats… he does use two stick to hit under and above…. The switch is obvious, but only if you are looking to it…

He was hitting the high hat on the up and down stroke. Take a look at the beginning of the video again and look at his waist. Then skip to the end and take a look there. He has lost something :-) Awesome reaction. Have you seen his Bongo Song?

What haters don't realize is the amount of work involved for someone to achieve this level of god like ability. Be it arts, sports, etc. They only see the end product, not the process.

Jeff, you blew right past one of the most amazing parts of this: at both 3:28 and 4:25, amidst all of that doubler -pedal action, he did right-hand stick flips which allowed him time to pass his left stick into his right hand, pull a stick from his waistband for his new left hand, and catch the flipped stick with his right, giving him TWO sticks in his right with which he played a tom and up-downed a cymbal. And in case you missed it, he did it a second time. Gotta have THREE EYES to watch this dude! 🤣

For real drummers, the most amazing part of this video is easily the dualist pedal work. It’s very rare to find a drummer who is proficient with it, and this guy makes it look easy. It’s almost not human to have that type of limb independence. I always give people slack whenever they miss the 2 sticks, since what he’s doing at the bottom is significantly more difficult.

Most reactions do concentrate on the foot pedal - when you say he seems to hit the hi-hat top and bottom - have another look. When he starts he got two extra sticks in his pants and he essentially grab an additional one when doing the hihat so he hits it with two sticks at the same time.

respect that at the beginning of your video you stand up for el Estepario against the people who are negative about him, you can see that Jorge enjoys what he does and then those people who don't like that should indeed skip it looking at him. and thank you for the many videos you make with your opinion about what people put on the internet. I wish you a nice day and I will automatically receive a notification when you have posted something new.

Hello, how are you? Really, it's exhausting to see the hatred for sport that there is these days in the social networks and in the comments of the streaming platforms. It's scary to think, that society has become this bad. Why don't they take care of their own miseries first, before throwing trash on people they don't even know?

Totally agree. Negative and abusive comments come from small minds. I’ve seen a variety of these kinds of comments on my channel and they use to bother me a great deal more. Now, I just accept that there are miserable people other there who want others to be just as miserable. I just silence them now without even replying because it’s just a waste of my time otherwise.
