11:16 this whole section seems weird in 2020. I really hate that. I hope we can get back to this someday, people chilling without fear of what they could get from each other.

Me and my son took these out for demo rides at Dirt Fest WV this past weekend and man they were the best bikes we rode hands down!! I'm looking forward to getting a couple of these in the truck!!

Its hard to say exactly what it is, but they're definitely amazing! I'm on the same boat as you, one of the best bikes I've ever ridden to this day.

BlindstuffMTB to put it into perspective they impressed enough people that they convinced my LBS to become an Ibis dealer when the shop got a bunch of calls and people telling them we all wanted these bikes.

I'm loving the out west videos man! Looks like a blast. Getting ready for hurricane Irma now. Stay safe if you are back at home.

Thanks man, glad you liked the videos. Place is a blast, you know from Park city, but if you have the chance to do the trip at some point really recommended. I just finished all my hurrican prep, still considering just getting in the car tomorrow and heading out to NC for the weekend. Stay safe, I'm usually in the "nah don't worry" camp, but this one has me concerned. Stronger than H. Andrew is no joke.

You really can't go wrong with either of those. I haven't ridden the mach 5.5 yet so I can't compare.

Excellent reviews, best reviews when compared to others, you explain the pros and cons without getting too techy and you convey your ride experience well, very relateable; a shootout between some of the best endure type bikes wld be great: Commencal 2.4, YT Capra, Canyon Strive

Thanks! Appreciate the kind words. I'd love to be able to do a shootout but I haven't figure out how to get my hands on all those awesome bikes at once!

great review...you rode some great bikes there! what were some of the riding differences between the yeti and the ibis??
@BlindstuffMTB7 жыл бұрын
Thanks!!! Outerbike is really worth it man, for the cost its impossible to test this many awesome bikes anywhere else. The HD4 vs SB6 is probably one of those personal taste things, I can't really pinpoint where the difference was, but I just felt better overall on the HD4. In short, I felt it paid less of an efficiency penalty in climbing and pedaling, and still felt better going downhill due to the crazy slack geometry it has (.6 degrees may not sound like much but it has a big effect). I really enjoyed riding both, and the difference between them is not huge, but if you gave me the choice I'd pick the HD4 blindly. I do believe some people would test both and not agree with me as its not good vs bad bike, its superb bike A vs superb bike B.

How well does the hd4 climb? Is it more trail/enduro or enduro/downhil?
@BlindstuffMTB7 жыл бұрын
I loved it, its an agressive enduro. I would not classify it as a park bike, it can definitely handle park, but its not defined as heavy hitter like the Reign SX for example. I think as long as you're not looking to win XC races it'll climb plenty well.

Man im hard pressed between the HD4 or the Pivot 2018 mach 6 carbon frames. Ugh! I'm 40/50 on climbs and descents and 10% bombing downhill. Can't decide on which frame to get? I'm coming from a 2017 giant trance 2 w 67mm head tube angle (am)
@BlindstuffMTB7 жыл бұрын
You're looking at two awesome bike, I doubt you can go wrong with either, I can't really compare as I haven't been able to ride the Mach 6 yet. I'm a big fan of both companies, I love the 429 trail and the Mojo 3, both being very similar I'd have a hard time picking one. Both will feel better than your trance descending and the climbing penalty will be minimal, as long as you're not trying to win XC races I think the trade off is worth it.
@stevenpeyton74767 жыл бұрын
I demo’d both bikes and ended up with the HD4... they are very similar with the DW Link and all, but the HD4 just loves to fly and it feels so good ripping down steep chunky trails. If you do 10% bombing, it probably doesn’t matter to you though. If you had this bike, you’d be seeking out bombing runs...lol.

Which is better DW link (ibis) or infiniti switch ( yeti ) ?
@BlindstuffMTB7 жыл бұрын
You can't compare suspension designs solely by their names, you need to dig into the behavior for each bike separately. DW Link is a variation on the 4bar desing, and Switch Infinity is a 4bar design with one pivot that allows veritcal movement. This article may give you some better insight: www.bikeradar.com/mtb/gear/article/ultimate-guide-to-mountain-bike-rear-suspension-systems-50849/ That being said, I liked the HD4 better than the SB6; that doesnt mean i'll like another Ibis better than all Yetis.

Awesome! Although probably overkill for Florida, I'd love to demo an HD4 at some point. What did you think of Outerbike?
@BlindstuffMTB7 жыл бұрын
It would probably be overkill, but its just such a fun bike, its like a Mojo 3 on steroids, kinda feels similar, except it just bombs downhill. I ended up riding a 150mm daily, by all means something I'd consider overkill for FL. Stay safe during Irma man.
@blakcloud25617 жыл бұрын
This bike was on my shortlist but ended up with a new Scott Genius on order. I think people get too hung up on the "overkill for Florida" deal. For me, I'm all about challenging myself with clearing technical stuff rather than riding fast so I tend to go for a more confidence inspiring "overkill" bike like this. It's what's right for me, even in Florida. However, it seems more and more people are traveling with their bikes so a bike with a little more built-in capability that you can take anywhere is a real plus! Love the vid! Keep it up Stefano! Boo! for not hitting up the Scott stand! lol
@BlindstuffMTB7 жыл бұрын
I get you, bike taste is always personal, if we only got what was "meant" for FL we'd all be riding XC hardtails. Glad you enjoyed the video Julio. I have to admit I know almost nothing about Scott bikes, but if I do make it to Moab i'll do my best to demo the Genius, what I could quickly gather from the geometry and specs on their site makes it look like a blast of a bike.
@Briangnc967 жыл бұрын
This is the best review and overall vid I've seen featuring an HD4! I'm going to take one out to demo soon but the shop is 4 hours away from me near Pisgah (I'm central NC). I recently took the Mach 5.5/6 and liked but the Mojo 3 and HD4 as well as a Mondraker in the next week or two. Have you ridden the Mach 5.5/6? My goal is to build endurance, drop some weight and get to Moab, maybe Tahoe next summer-fall. I can't wait to make my mind up!
@BlindstuffMTB7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Brian! You'll love this bike at a place like Pisgah! I have not ridden the longer travel Mach bikes yet, but the 429 Trail is one of my favorite short travel bikes. Both Pivot and Ibis make SUPERB bikes, the only downside is they're price as the quality they have. Good luck on the bike hunt, you can't go wrong with any of those options.
@JoinMyRide7 жыл бұрын
I have the HD3 have you ridden that? Wondering how it feels compared to the HD4...
@BlindstuffMTB7 жыл бұрын
I have not ridden the HD3, just looking at the numbers, the HD3 is a bit shorter and steeper. The HD4 is probably more stable, but the difference will not be huge, the HD3 seems like it was a superb platform to start with.
@JoinMyRide7 жыл бұрын
The HD3 is great, but I would guess that the HD4 like steep stuff better.. I have seen Robin Wallner (Ibis EWS team) riding the HD3 live and I can image liked getting something more stable when it gets rough.

Thanks Goomba, appreciate the support! I have ridden the Capra a few times here and there, but honestly not enough to get an opinion of it, the only Capra I have access to is a buddies and I haven't ridden it all out as I think is necessary to get a good opinion on the bike. 2.6 is plus. 2.5 is this weird "wide" middle-ground, while 2.4 and under is normal.
@BlindstuffMTB7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree with you, some people had told me they bundled up 2.5 and 2.6 as that weird in-between which is where the question came from.
@kevinhill.86 жыл бұрын
It’s all semantics and the variety coming out will blur (and perhaps eliminate) the lines. The new Scott Genius is 2.8 and they don’t even call it a plus bike. Who cares about a name/classification?! Just worry about ride feel.

For me, HD4, but that's subjective, other people I spoke to who rode both preferred the SB6. In either case, they're both phenomenal and the difference is only taste, not good vs bad.
