Nice video and review! I also was at Outerbike/Crusty Butt. What a great time. I didn't get to ride the sb6 but took the 4.5 for a spin and was really impressed with the bike. My first ride on a yeti and can say with certainty the pedaling efficiency is great.

Thanks Stephen. Crusty Butt, lol! It was a great time, no doubt. I didn't ride the 4.5, hoping to get to the shorter travel bikes if I can make it to Moab for fall Outerbike. I was a little skeptical with Yeti, there is so much hype behind it that you never know whats true, but it lived up to the expectations I had for sure.

Looks like another great day for you! I test rode the 2017 yeti 5.5c last month in pisgah. Didn't want to give it back! Great video!

Thanks man, it was indeed awesome. Haven't had a chance to ride the 5 or 5.5 yet, a buddy tested the sb5 plus and could not stop raving about it.

Great review and riding as usual. Your videos are so clear and crisp I'm lovin it. Oh by the way I like louder hubs better :). Looking forward to your next video.

Glad to hear you're enjoying, always awesome to hear positive feedback. I like the noisy hubs as well, but I have to admit it was fun to hear so much of the interaction between bike and ground and the squisihing noises in the suspension as well.

Yeah, a fall here and there is just part of the sport, as you say, we've all been there at one point or another. Glad you're liking the video, a couple more to come from Outerbike and then we're moving on to other places.

Hahaha Thanks Tommy! I'm not at the point to hit those drops yet, that was pretty big, I'd rather get a few more days of riding in that just hitting the one drop and crashing lol

3:14...that's a drop on a single black diamond? Too much for this old feller. As always, awesome video. Your reviews are always objective but you keep a positive spin on them.
@BlindstuffMTB6 жыл бұрын
lmao, yeah, that drop was pretty crazy and to top it off the landing lead to a curve, not like you could even ride it out. Maybe i'll get to that kind of features eventually, but for now i'm not there yet. Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks for the video and feedback. I ride in AZ, CA and CO during the year on a Devinci Spartan now but learned more about Yeti when I would ride in CO, their home. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a 2018 Yeti SB6 TURQ and wondered if you felt the bike was better than most enduro ride on the climb. I ride a variety of terrain but really love downhill. It seemed pretty quiet on the trail too. I assume the internal cable routing helps with that. On a scale of 1-10, what's your rating? Thanks again.
@BlindstuffMTB7 жыл бұрын
Glad you found the video useful. I can't really rate it 1 to 10, there is too much personal opinion on bikes, but its definitely in the upper range. I personally enjoyed riding the Mojo HD4 more, but spoke with others that found the SB6 to be better, so... no real way to come to an agreement. I can tell you the SB6 is a phenomenal bike and if it matches what you're looking for in a bike you will be for sure happy with it. The climbing on it was very good and sound overall was awesome. I've yet to know one person who owns one of these and doesn't like it. If you're the kind of guy who want to get the KOM on the climb, a shorter travel SB5 may be a better option, but if you just want to climb efficiently to enjoy the descent, the SB6 is for you.

Correct me if I’m wrong but think Sb6 has 160mm up front and 150 out back. Not 150 as stated. Great vid 😃.

One of my buddies is seriously looking at the SB6. I personally feel like it's way too much bike for where we live, but everyone I talk to who has been on one loves it. With a price tag like that, they better! How did the Yeti feel in the air? I imagine with all of that travel it must have been nice and jumpy.
@BlindstuffMTB7 жыл бұрын
If he's looking at the SB6, I would seriously consider the Ibis MojoHD4, for me it was a better all-around bike, easily one of the best bikes I've ever ridden, it also carries quite the premium price, but if he's already looking at the SB6 it probably will make sense for his budget. As far as too much for where you live, I'm a terrible example for that, I ride a 150mm Jeffsy in FL, so I wont talk reason in to anyone lol. But in all seriousness, with the right geometry, it'll work, with the wrong one, it'll be like pedaling a tractor. Although they have the same suspension travel, the SB6 felt more descending oriented than the Jeffsy. I'm not much of a jumper, but for the stuff I can clear, the SB6 was real nice, cased one jump in particular pretty badly and the suspension sucked it up no issues.

Great video. Which bike did you prefer out of the Reign SX and the Yeti Sb6? And in what way was the Mojo HD4 better than the SB6? Thanks for your feedback.
@BlindstuffMTB7 жыл бұрын
Hey Dean, the SX is a different class bike for sure, if I were to buy a dedicated gravity bomber without going all out DH the Reign SX would be the clear choice, but for "real life" riding I prefer the class the SB6 and HD4 are in, usable almost as well in the bike park at most skill levels, and much more civilized for climbing and regular trail rides. The HD4 vs SB6 is probably one of those personal taste things, I can't really pinpoint where the difference was, but I just felt better overall on the HD4 (more detail on the video coming out next week on the HD4). In short, I felt it paid less of an efficiency penalty in climbing and pedaling, and still felt better going downhill due to the crazy slack geometry it has (.6 degrees may not sound like much but it has a big effect). I really enjoyed riding both, and the difference between them is not huge, but if you gave me the choice I'd pick the HD4 blindly.
@deanherde8057 жыл бұрын
BlindstuffMTB thanks for your reply mate. Very interesting. I've actually got an SB6 and love it. Looking forward to seeing your video on the HD4. Subscribed.

Cool vid! How does it climb? Could it be a do everything bike or if it s too enduro aimed?
@BlindstuffMTB6 жыл бұрын
It can be a do it all bike depending on where you live and what you want. If you want to pedal like crazy i'd think the 5 may be a better choice, but if you want to pedal reasonably (non-xc racing) it should be good.

Hello, do or did you try the new yeti sb5.5. A lot of People said that is awsome bike. It is a 29er. I really don't know which bike to buy. Sb6, sb5.5. If you could help me. Thank you man
@BlindstuffMTB7 жыл бұрын
+paquita lysao hey there! I have not ridden the 5.5 unfortunately, most of these demo events have a lot of people, so if someone gets to the bike you want before you, you don't get to test it. I tried at outerbike but was outrun. What kind of terrain / where do you ride most? Do you like XC or enduro type riding?
@paquitalysao92057 жыл бұрын
BlindstuffMTB hello, thank you for reply so fast. I like your riding type, BKXC and Jeff Kendall weed. I like downhill but not very steep one, long downhill track, some jump, rocks, technical turns, roots. .. I don't like to climb a lot. As I live on a island far away from demo bike. I could not try them before buying. I watched a lot of vidéos, listen guys like you.... As this moment, my heart is between, 3 bikes. Sb6, sb5.5 and ibis hd4. 3 great bikes, but for the price in have to choose only one... Sorry for my english I am French.
