Reigen is doing the exact same crap since the beginning, but why does he seem bad now? The thing is, Mob has changed but Reigen hasn't. Mob is technically 2 months more experienced now. You have to remember that Reigen was always like this, and not necessarily acting out of character. In fact, the beginning of the episode is almost identical to episode 1, except the only difference is that Mob has friends now. The reason Mob looked up to Reigen so much initially is because he's the only person who was kind to him since Mob literally had no friends due to his lack of emotion. I guess this has always been sort of a thing, where Reigen takes advantage of this fact to get Mob to work for him. It's always been subtly pretty "morally questionable", except now it's being brought to light given how much Mob has changed since the beginning, and how Reigen never considered Mob's personal feelings. There's a distinct theme to this show, this idea of individualism and how one should choose their own path in life. Now that Mob is on one, we get to see how this affects Reigens path and how much he used to depend on Mob. Honestly this miniarc is one of my favorite parts of the show.

Reigen truly loves Mob. But he’s dependent on Mob. Hell watch the end credits for season 1. Reigan’s world is black and white until he sees Mob. And just like a tyrannical mother, he’s hurting Mob’s confidence so he doesn’t leave Reigan. He hasn’t developed himself at all.

Truth be told, when this arc happened, I always thought that it felt forced because Reigen acted out of character. It wasn't until I realized that the reason I thought Reigen acted out of character was because I, as an audience, grew alongside with Mob after the Mogami arc and made Mob (myself including) more aware of people who are only exploiting him. The fact that ONE made us empathize with Mob so much that we started seeing things and the other characters in a much different light is such great writing.

Get ready, wake your psyche up Mob! Get ready, dig your anger up Mob! - Coming down, could you fill your satisfaction? You're a Mob, can't you feel your frustration? - *KURAI my life, KURAI my psyche, KURAI my heart in such uncommon places.* (It's also been translated into "cryin' my life, ..." But I think it could be a play on both. KURAI = Dark, darkness, dim + Cryin'. Combining them can make it seem that he's lamenting how there's a part of him in the depths of his subconscious that he can't seem to control, a 'Darker version' of himself, you could say. *Is that your ideal? Is that your mind?* (Him, Dimple, or Reigen questioning him. Possibly a specific nod towards the Mogami conflict or Reigen's Arc, or even ??? and the sunflower.) - *The Mob is alive. The Mob is high. The Mob is staying frustrated, aren't you?* (or alternatively, ) *The Mob is right. The Mob inside. The Mob is the inverse of latent untruth.* (I prefer the second one; it hints at ??? within him and their future conflict. Latent -> ??? is hidden, staying inside Shigeo most of the time, not doing anything unless called forth/the situation calls for ???'s interference. Untruth -> because... you'll find out in a future arc. And sunflowers. ) *Is that your ideal? Is that your mind? IMA SUGU* (Again, him asking himself that question. Who is he, really?) *Your life is your own.* (Well, he's himself. And no one can tell him what to do (edit: with it) otherwise.)
@danielquiroz73115 жыл бұрын
*"GET READY! WE CAN SUCK YOU OFF, UHH!!!"* Well, that won't leave me anytime soon. Thanks guys.. Well, this episode is also the start of another one of my favorite arcs it's definitely one that focuses on growth and development for certain characters, it's actually really deep and emotional at times. But of course this episode pulls no punches when it comes to that. Especially due to what Reigen ended up doing, that causes a rift between him and Mob. It's a moment where Reigen is essentially at an all time low. One where it looks as if he seemingly can't turn away from. So instead of running away he decides to improve his life, and focus on the skills he's actually good at. It's a time that Reigen really does reflect on how he ended up here in the first place, and what he's done since then. A time of self discovery and one that he desperately needs in order to move foward.... Y'know it's funny, I always wondered exactly what irritated me about the scene shown at 3:55 but now I can pinpoint why. It's due to the sheer fact of how Mob must feel In This Moment. In order to, you're gonna have to take into account what happened the previous episode. Shigeo literally gets stuck in this fictional world for 6 months by an evil spirit. Forced to endure so much physical and emotional torture day after day, all by himself. He manages to snap out of it, with the help of Dimple of course, and remembered all of the times he's had in the real world with all of his friends and family. He learns a lesson, that he's literally surrounded by good people and he has to be more grateful that they are in his life. The face we see at 3:55 could be easily misconstrued as a face that's like "C'mon Seriously??" Or "Just leave me alone." But the way I see it as, it being a face of pure guilt and shame. He's literally feeling as though he's betrayed all of them, due to the fact that Reigen has asked for his help with this case. Thus breaking his promise, and not proving how important they are to him. Man, poor Shigeo felt so bad for him. Loved the addition on the not as gullible as you might think line. It implys so much without saying alot. :> Next week is really gonna be such a great episode to see them react to: *"You've grown up so much, y'know??"*

18:30 It isn't an important distinction, it's only one that nitpicking a-holes bleat on about. The default is that X doesn't exist until there's some evidence they do. If you say "Ghosts don't exist" and someone demands you prove it, then show them a nonexistent ghost (you have one right there) and say that is your proof. Alternatively say that they need to prove their claim you are wrong. They will then walk it back and claim "I didn't say you were wrong!", but then there would be no point in proving ghosts don't exist if nobody thinks you are wrong.
