Aaron is right. The writers did plan out the entire series. And Eric is right, if you rewatch the series after knowing the end, everything has a new meaning. That's one of the reasons it's a masterpiece of storytelling.
@JBjopa8 Жыл бұрын
Yes that is so true, Dark is one of those shows that is even better when you watch the show again you appreciate so many things even more.
@bigted6351 Жыл бұрын
I think DARK is the best television show ever for rewatchability. Overall its definitely in my top 10, but its easily the best on rewatch. There are so many hints you pick up on, plot twists that you feel you should have seen coming as they're obvious to you now. The casting blows you away every time, particularly with the Stranger and Jonas. I sort of guessed he was him before the reveal, but they genuinely look so alike. It's like they were saying last episode, the showrunners definitely discovered time travel, its the only possible explanation
@YourBlackLocal Жыл бұрын
I agree to an extent. I think Dark really has a lot of stuff that only works on a rewatch, which is pretty cheap in my opinion.
@bigted6351 Жыл бұрын
@@YourBlackLocal I disagree. I think as a whole it just takes the mystery genre to a different level. You yourself are trying to work out this massive puzzle, just as the characters are. It keeps giving you just enough, you work things out, get reveals along the way. But you don't truly understand everything until the end of the last episode, and then it all makes sense. To me that makes it gripping all the way through, and satisfying at reveals, epecially at the end.
@YourBlackLocal Жыл бұрын
@@bigted6351 You can do everything you said without having scenes that only exist to be understood after watching. A good mystery adds layers to what you saw and makes you see it in a new light. I’m not saying Dark is bad, but there are so many scenes that literally mean nothing in the moment and exist solely to be answered later.

I think you may have missed Noah lying to Adam at the end. Adam asks if Claudia had the pages on her and Noah shakes his head to say no. That's the first time we've seen Noah break away from Adam that we know of. Whatever was in the pages changed his view.

They didn't. They started from scratch after season 1.
@kvm6 Жыл бұрын
@@suicidesquadostmusic3017 I guess that's why the Netflix deal was for 3 seasons of Dark and 1 season of 1899.
@kvm6 Жыл бұрын
@Piano na Prática - Raphael Mingattos They had the broad strokes for both Dark and 1899 when they made a deal with Netflix. The plan for 1899 was also for 3 seasons, but yes Netflix didn't renew the deal. What my point was that Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Friese had the outline for all 3 seasons when they talked with Netflix. Some details changed like introducing stuff in finale instead of earlier in S2E6, but the story is largely the same. So, much so that if you zoom in on the family tree in S1E1 first scene (or get a better shot in a later episode), you'll learn of Noah's real name way before the show brings it up.

Charlotte was NOT in the Tannhaus shop, because it was 1953. When Ulrich was there he saw two girls: Jana (his mother) and Ines (Mikkels Adoptivmother/ nurse). We saw Charlotte with the birds in 1986! Greetings from Germany ❤
@foxyazure4272 Жыл бұрын
Claudia knew where she was going to die, but Noah didn't. She gave the obituary page to Agnes so she could give it to Noah, so that Noah knew where to find her and kill her so Noah would get the pages. Claudia knowingly killed herself to give Noah the pages.

Seeing Claudia watch Regina on the balcony breaks my damn heart every time I see her breaking down. Unimaginable pain. Also, you've probably worked out out by now, but Tannhaus raised Charlotte as his grand daughter

I really do realize something new every time. Claudia saying, “I like how you wear your hair. It makes you look so grown up,” to her Regina in the past and then going to see her daughter grown up who has lost her hair from cancer. It made that scene hurt even more!

Its sort of hilarious, in a dark sort of way, how many time travel hints Egon has been presented with. It happens to a lot of characters, but he gets SOOOO many hints and even by this point in his life, in the 80's, he just has a weird feeling but hasn't come close to putting it together. And it makes sense, why would he draw the time travel conclusion

This is one of my favorite episodes in the whole show (if not THE favorite). Nothing too crazy happens compared to others, but Noah is my favorite character and the Tiedemanns are my favorite family so I love that they get so much focus here. Dark is mostly remembered for its crazy tight plot and its iconic twists, but I personally think that the show truly shines when it lets us breathe a little and focuses on the characters and their relationships. (And you know that a show is great when the main character doesn’t show up for a whole episode and you don’t even notice!)

The thing about bootstrap paradox is that it is a paradox, there is no beginning & end to things, some things just exists in the loop. So it is wrong to ask who started it or who is responsible for things happening, it just happens deterministically. That's why eric is wrong.

@@linsidious11Yet there still isn't a beginning especially in the explanation of the original comment (spoiler territory ahead). Your response only gives a reason for why it exists and why it continues to exist, but there is no start. Using Dragon Ball as an opposite example - the Mirai timeline is what would happen if Trunks didn't go back in time. This is the reverse; there is no original way this happened.

This is why I commented in season one that a spreadsheet is needed. Not only for each character, but in which timeline did did they come across a version. For Egon to have the "witch" then is daughter repeat a phrase, then his next time line the Ulrich paradox. Even for those who speak German, I'm sure keeping track of the versions of each character became a daunting task.

I like they way the 12th Doctor explained it on Doctor Who. If you play a record of Beethoven's 5th Symphony for him before he writes it, did he then actually write it, or has he just copied a piece of music, that he himself wrote?
@StandardCabrera Жыл бұрын
@HerSandiness lol, exactly. Same with tannhaus book. He always wrote it, but by his younger self then receiving it, he then accelerated his younger self's understanding of it all as he could learn 4 decades of his own research in the time it takes him to read the book. I have watched your reactions for years. I greatly enjoy exercising parts of the mind that are not used as often as you made the analogy about and the complexity of shows in general. I have watched your reactions to many shows. However I think the combination of this show and the fact that it challenges you this much. I believe this show is my favorite reaction from you!!! Idk the other shows that you mentioned as being this complex but my next favorite might have to be The Expanse reactions. Does anyone have suggestions for other complex shows like this to watch?? 41:23 That's interesting, and kind of what I was wondering. It seemed contradictory that some characters would have wounds carried through timelines, as evidence of things unable to be changed. Yet the time machine has been altered according to Tannhaus, when he notices a chamber for the Cs 137 cartridge. So things can be changed, maybe? That seems to be the turning point of the whole climax for the show: will anyone be able to change events? If the climax shows them changing things, will they differentiate that by removing wounds on certain characters, for example?

It’s so painful watching the crew mess-up the characters🥲 Like Tannhaus is charlottes adopted grandfather not father, and Charlotte was not in the 50s as she wouldn’t of been born, and how they mix-up characters or overthink characters like thinking that Bartosz and Noah are the same person 😭 I don’t know if they’re struggling with subtitles, or watching it week-to-week amongst other shows. When I first watched the show I managed to get everyone sorted in my head by the end of S1, I’m surprised that they are struggling so much and can’t remember a lot of characters names or the relationship to other characters. Like there’s four of them, I would of hoped one person would remember 💀
@closedmouth Жыл бұрын
they're definitely overthinking it, and i think the four-person discussion at the end is making them more confused, not less they're getting better though, and episode 4 will sort a lot of things out
@kvm6 Жыл бұрын
It's alright to struggle, and have wrong ideas, but if they are using the family tree then these shouldn't happen, as it clearly clarifies who Noah is.
@J__T Жыл бұрын
Completely agree. When I watched it over the course of a few hours each weekend for several weekends, I did not have any problems remembering who anyone was or is without need of writing it down. My folks were the same way.
@JCmud351 Жыл бұрын
It is hard to keep track of everything when you’re watching a ton of other shows with the same expectation of remembering everything *and* when you’re trying to watch something for content creation vs. at your own leisure. They’re gonna miss things. But Dark has enough (really great) writing that it takes people forgetting details into account. It knows it’s a detail-heavy show but will still deliver the story without getting caught up in them. And the idea that Noah is Bartosz was a big theory amongst fans when the show first released. Given that we see young Noah by first episode of S2, I never got it, but they’re not the only ones.

I'm very much enjoying this reaction run, but I think the crew really need to learn the family tree names and faces off before going any further.
