I haven't thought of that. He's right, people in this anime become monsters or get super powers when they obsess over something. Maybe Saitama's not really unusual and he's actually the same as the weird villains he's been fighting. There's no magic potion or gadget, just willpower and determination. Tomas Aguirre MHA isn't a superhero show like the ones they watch. It's a A-typical shounen with a heavy influence of a slice of life genre. It would be a horrible and boring series for them to try to discuss. All they would really say is "cool characters" or "they fight was cool" or even "man this is hype!" Otherwise it's basically a fan service for little kids. There are pretty of other anime that are conversation worthy and won't be boring and that are actually complete series.

Not a special anime at all. Watched the first season and it's quite generic. I'd rather would want them to see Death Note or Hunter X Hunter 2011. Those at least do something special and aren't predictable.

Even if it isn't a show like the ones they watch, they most likely would love it. The only thing what you said i can understand and somehow "support" is the fact that there are other, more suitable choices of anime for them to watch, like Code Geass, Steins;Gate or Gurren Lagann +++
