Love these reactions… but why did they cut out Elliot finding the Back to the Future image…? That’s one the deepest, most beautiful scenes of the entire show up to this point, and explains how Mr. Robot isn’t some conscious and independent entity but truly apart of Elliot who was made by Elliot, and he hid the seed file in the image that represented Love and Regret the most for him.

I feel bad for Eric. I thought he'd enjoy the mysteries in this show since he is a big fan of Lost. He might be overthinking too many things. The main mysteries at this point in the series would include... 1) Why does Mr. Robot exist and why is Elliot suffering from DID? 2) Why did Elliot jump out of the window? 3) What exactly is Whiterose project, what does she want to do with it, and why did she come up with this project? 4) What did Whiterose show Angela and, apparently, a lot of her followers who are ready to die for it? 5) What is the Washington Township Plant for exactly? 6) How does Elliot plan to take down the 1% of the 1%? 7) Why does Elliot speak directly to the viewers as if they are a unique individual? 8) What was the meaning of everything that we saw in Elliot's fevered dream in S1 while he was recovering from drug abuse? Some more minor mysteries... 1) Why is Vera back in town and why has he always brought up his commonality with Elliot? 2) Does Whiterose also suffer from DID or is she just a transwoman who can't express herself in public? 3) What is Irving's obsession with his book? 4) Why is Krista so adamant on still treating Elliot after everything she found out about him? 5) Why have we never really seen Elliot's mother in the flesh? 6) Why all the references to Back to the Future in the series? And the most important mystery of all.... Why have they not played the famous 'Mr. Roboto' song in the series yet? I'm surprised none of the guys have ever brought it up. I remember thinking that during the first season. 🤣 The lyrics of the song fit so well with Elliot's character too. Ah well, I hope this post helps out some new viewers who might be confused like Eric. No spoilers, but hopefully you get a better, concise vision of the mysteries of the show so far that haven't been explained.

I just think they're watching way too many shows at once and get lost in the sauce. You can tell which ones they're actually into by their discussions - Succession and The Bear for are recent ones.

@@spencerwattamaniuk950 I mean, Calvin and Aaron seem to be doing okay. It's not like they are supposed to understand everything at this point. As for those two other shows, they're not at all like Mr. Robot. This is a very demanding story that covers a large branch of mental health issues and uses a majorly unreliable narrator. And I'm not even talking about how it plays around with the concepts of self, reality, etc. It's not an easy first watch. It's much easier on a rewatch.

I love mysteries in a show. I love Lost, love Attack on Titan and love Severance. I thought I'd love this but so far I 10000% agree with Eric. Which sucks because I love the concept of the show? I like the 'hacker' stuff, the mental illness exploration, therapy and the visuals but I feel like I'm just waiting for it to 'get good'🤷 I mean we're now going into the 4th season and I feel like we're back almost exactly were we were in season 1's ending...

@@devinsingleton5242 I also love both Lost and AoT and their puzzle-like aspect. I dunno about Severance (I've only watched one episode with the crew and I can't say I'm hooked yet). This show definitely doesn't have as many mysteries, but there are quite a few still. I understand not being fully satisfied. I had a difficult first watch too, but after watching the final season it really got to me and rewatching it now I enjoy it much more. I hope it will be the same for you.

They aren't even asking most of the obvious questions. I mean, they never once asked why Price was so invested in Angela. It just wasn't even on their radar somehow. I genuinely think they are spreading themselves too thin. You can only be interested in so many things at once. As far as I can tell, they haven't worked out that Elliot has DID. That's how much I don't think they get this show

When Vera came back I didn't really like it because I had no idea how they would incorporate him into the main story. I thought he would be like filler or something but boy was I wrong. Thanks to that character we have one of the best episodes in TV history in season 4.

I still think Vera was just brought back as a plot device for the big reveal of season 4. The character is good for what he is (a mid tier drug lord), and the actor does a great job, but having him as a villain in season 4, when we're trying to take down the people that control the world, made it hard for me to find him either threatening or compelling. It's like if in Batman's fourth film we had Carmine Falcon as the main villain instead of one of the bigger ones.

@@RoderickThe13 See I look at that completely differently. Anyone who hasn't watched it yet- getting into spoiler territory here. To me the reason Vera turned into such an important part of season 4 wasn't just the iconic 4x7 episode. It was the fact his involvement in the season was a massive gear change that helped set into motion what the show was really about all along. Not taking down the dark army etc, but a character study on Elliot and his relationships with the people around him. We get the big victory over the dark army near the end of the season. But once that's resolved, the final couple of episodes when we discover 'the real Elliot' was the point this show went from being very good, to one of the greatest of the past 20 years. And crazily it all stemmed from that season 3 post credit sequence that felt like nothing more than random filler at the time.

Regardless of my personal feelings about Vera's character, it's more the idea of teasing the minor drug lord rapist villain from season 1 on the post credit scene of season 3 that I find a very weird creative choice, especially compared to the previous post credit scenes that really got me excited for the next season. Luckily I binged watched the show over the past month, but if I had watched the season 3 finale when it came out, I don't think knowing that Vera was coming back would've done anything to get me hyped for season 4, which is usually the point of those post credit scenes.

Mr Robot and Attack On Titan are similar in the way they reveal the mysteries I feel. Sam Esmail knew how he wanted to end the show from the very beginning so it will all make sense and as you rewatch, you see the subtle hints you didn't see before like on Attack On Titan. It will all pay off

It's one of those shows that you have to be locked in to appreciate. I had the same issue they had when I watched Dark season 1 half asleep and couldn't follow the plot after 2 years of break.

I've been watching full length, but I don't have season 4 anymore, so this is a good stopping point for me. I figured this would be as good a time as any to mention something: I think being fully awake for a reaction is the bare minimum, and unfortunately I think Blind Wave missed that minimum too often with this series. I want to be clear that I'm not trying to be mean; I don't always give 100% into my own work, so I don't want to complain like a hypocrite. But I see these comments from KZbin, Discord, the guys themselves in the discussion, etc. about reasons why this show doesn't seem to fully click for them, and it feels crazy to me that I haven't seen anyone mention one of the most glaring reasons: they're half asleep sometimes. I know they've joked about it before, but does no one else watch full length? Maybe I'm just misinterpreting things, but for what it's worth I'm the type that feels bad when I give even the mildest of criticisms, so I wouldn't say something like this willy-nilly. To be clear, it's not that bad this episode. Again, this is just my last full length, so I wouldn't notice anything if I decide to watch the edited reactions moving forward. I debated not even commenting, but when the thought crossed my mind that I appreciate Aaron always being awake for these...I had to reevaluate what I'm okay with lol.

Absolutely, I usually watch full length and it is very noticeable when they film in the mornings because someone's still going in and out of sleep mode. This is unfortunately very consistent with the Mr. Robot reactions, and I'm afraid even recently with something like Arcane, which should not even have that problem, based on the first 4 episode reactions. They're just being pulled too thinly by the workload, and not getting enough sleep. It's a detriment. It should be quality over quantity as they say. Sometimes it's so depressing to watch that I can't bring myself to watch the discussion portion. I've even stopped watching full length for this show for the past few episodes. I'm just sad as someone who voted Mr. Robot as my #1 choice every poll.

I agree, especially with Calvin falling asleep. I think the sheer number of shows they watch is a big part of the problem. I can't imagine juggling 20 shows like they do. As soon as they finish one, they jump straight into another, leaving little time to let the stories sink in or to reflect on what they've watched. Instead, they’re already working on the next video for an entirely different show. I watched Mr. Robot as it aired, and participating in the weekly discussions really enhanced my experience. It also helped that I wasn’t following many other series at the same time, which gave me the space to fully process each episode. Of course, I understand that they can’t operate the same way due to their workload and current year they're watching it, but it’s clear that this is affecting the depth of their reactions and discussions. Like you, I'm not trying to be mean. I’ve been following Blind Wave since 2015. It's just disappointing to see this trend not just with Mr. Robot but with other series as well. It’s just a shame to see the quality of the discussions suffer.

You say this, but it’s the only reason they remembered Vera. You have to consider the fact that these guys aren’t binging 1 or 2 shows in under a week. They are watching like 15 shows and movies at the same time across many months. It’s impossible to remember every detail in such a heavy detail oriented show like this one. I get that you’re upset, but I still think they are doing well given the situation. You didn’t catch everything during your first watch either.

When Calvin was talking about the chess pieces moving when we are not looking. it makes sense when you remember that we are another personality in Eliot's mind, but also to be fair we do see things when he isnt there. many rewatches are necessary to really get a fill of this show.

A lot of negativity in the comments about not understanding the show. However, having now finished all four seasons - I get where Eric is coming from. I know people are complaining about them seeming half asleep - but I have similar issues about the show and I was fully awake and engaged throughout. The show doesn't always work for me, in the same way it might work for other people. I think the value in reactions is seeing the different sides to things - not everyone loves everything. I know people love the show - but I was personally left without a full understanding of choices the show made - especially when it came to the climaxes of arcs and characters.
