Something I'd add to the conversation about "anger bending"... Katara and Sokka only found Aang in the first place because Katara was so pissed at her brother she ripped a huge block of ice apart. The break corresponded with her wild arm movements, so... yeah, I think that's a thing.

Shavone Granville The question the guys posed was whether or not a heightened emotional state like anger can make bending more powerful. When we first meet Katara she is not a very skilled bender: she struggles to control small amounts of water and it's very strenuous for her when she does, and then she gets mad at Sokka, starts gesticulating wildly and accidentally breaks apart a huge block of ice. Katara executed a bit of bending way above her skill level at that point, solely because Sokka was pissing her off. Based on that, I think there's enough evidence to support that anger can make bending more powerful.

Because ATLA is so old (realtively speaking), DVDs and online streming services like Netflix and Amazon video are plagued with horrible picture quality from ghosting and interlacing.
