Haha, thanks my friend! Always so enjoyable playing some blink tunes.

Wow, that's really awesome! A full self-titled album cover would be amazing.
@maxadrums10 жыл бұрын
Yeah, right? I'd love to do it - and all in one setting. I was fortunate enough to see one out of 2 blink shows where they played the complete album from start to finish!
@jerem_10 жыл бұрын
Maximiliam Andersson You are so lucky. Last time I saw them, it was in France, in 2012. All in one setting with a good drum roll at the end of "I'm lost without you", well, like I said: AMAZING :D .

Outstanding Maximiliam! And what a cool concept (5 covers in just a few days). I'm going to check out the others right now.
@maxadrums10 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Ed! Yeah, thought it'd be fun! A nice way to do multiple covers from one band, doing something special, and at the same time without having those not appreciating blink having to suffer from covers taking up multiple weeks! Haha.

You nailed this! Great job! Did you tune your snare different to get better rebound for this song?
@maxadrums10 жыл бұрын
This song in particular doesn't really need that much rebound, but I did indeed tune the snare up a bit to match Travis' sound!
@CamronRobb10 жыл бұрын
Awesome man! It sounded a little tighter, but was amazing with the song. I never tune my snare unless if there is too much ringing haha. Drum on man and I can't wait to see more!
@maxadrums10 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Travis - especially back in the days - had a very tight snare drum. Prior to blink he played in a ska band, and I believe he was one of the people who bought a high pitched snare into the punk rock scene :)

Hey! What drum pedal are you using in this video?
@maxadrums8 жыл бұрын
Good question, buddy! Either a DW 5000/9000 or a Tama Iron Cobra. They all work fine!
@glass_diarrhea42688 жыл бұрын
Maximiliam Andersson Thanks! I am having trouble with the bass drum part but i believe its due to the cheap pedal i have. Thanks once again!!
@maxadrums8 жыл бұрын
+GlassDiarrhea - Unless you have a pedal that's falling a part, I would be careful with blaming gear! I say this in a friendly way and to help you. :) Better pedals can definitely make it a bit easier - but if you have a good bass drum technique you should be able to play pretty much any pedal. Similar to how even if it's preferred with perfect-for-you sticks and a surface with lots of rebound - you'd still be able to play stuff with any sticks and on any surface with good technique! Getting a new pedal might be helpful - but there's no better way and nothing better than you can do to practice! :) Bass drum speed is something that takes time to work up! Let me know if you'd like any exercises. In this one it's all about endurance, though!
@glass_diarrhea42688 жыл бұрын
+Maximiliam Andersson Thank you so much for the advice!! I will certainly try to practice more on this pedal before getting a new one. Also an exercise video would be perfect! Thanks once again!
@maxadrums8 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Gear should help us - but not be necessary hehe! And if you can "Rock" a pedal that's shittier, you'll definitely rock a smoother pedal. Something that's great to practice for bass drum control is to play of course what we tend to play a lot - singles and doubles, but also triples and quads. Playing 8th notes on the hi-hat, 2+4 on snare, then quads as 16th notes. So 4 sixteenth notes, then 2 sixteenth notes rest. That's a fantastic exercise for controlled technique, and endurance. Starting it really slow and really owning every single stroke! I might post some lesson on bass drum speed and control in the future, could be cool!
@49wall10 жыл бұрын
Soo good, precise and powerful! Did you play over a drumless track?
@maxadrums10 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Francois! No - it's not drumless! However I have a specific approach while mixing trying to get the original drums as low as possible while still getting the rest of the instruments out through EQ's and compressors/mastering!
@NickMenza21 Жыл бұрын
Perfect.
@80docent10 жыл бұрын
Good job, grat cover ! I have a question about song. You mute the drum in some way or looking a song without drums track?
@maxadrums10 жыл бұрын
Neither! However I have a specific approach while mixing trying to get the original drums as low as possible while still getting the rest of the instruments out through EQ's and compressors/mastering! So if it feels like it was a drumless track, I'm glad!
@80docent10 жыл бұрын
Maximiliam Andersson thx for the tip. You are very good at it. I don't hear a original drums. Maybe you make a video tutorial for the "mute" drum or maybe give some quick tips.
@maxadrums10 жыл бұрын
