@@waggy44182 Hey Waggy! I haven't seen how other play it - but Travis is a fan of the R-L-R-L-K-K pattern, which this fill is based on. 2 sets of R-L-R-L-K-K (two singles on tom, two singles on snare, doubles on kick) 1 set of R-L-R-L on the snare. Super typical Travis fill! (and fill pattern in general!) It's just the speed which is quite crazy fast, haha.

Yeah, there's some EQ and compression on there! Don't remember exactly how I used to EQ it since I haven't used the snare for almost a year, hehe.
@Luz182NP9 жыл бұрын
+Maximiliam Andersson So, in your opinion, what's the best for pop/punk played live without eq?
@maxadrums9 жыл бұрын
I'd probably go for a metal snare, or possibly birch/birch-bubinga!
@isetmfriendsofire7 жыл бұрын
Is 2:34 actually that hard? (Not a drummer)
@maxadrums7 жыл бұрын
Depends on your background! Many people will have trouble with the speed while keeping it powerful, as well as the super quick double strokes on your bass drum with the right foot! But I wouldn't call it extremely difficult - just time consuming to get used to the speed and power. Other than that - it's not much more to it!

I love this drum sound! What's on the drum bus, and what limiter did you use for the 2 bus? Great job!
@maxadrums10 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Mark. I mainly use equalizers and compressors, and at times reverb. I usually send Snare, kick and toms to one bus, and the OH to a separate one, so that the bus compression doesn't make the overheads get pushed back like crazy. What are you referring to as "the 2 bus"? Thanks again.

Nice man! The execution of the song was just amazing! Almost perfect in fact haha. MERRY CHRISTMAS MAN! Did you get any cool gear as a gift? I got some sabian cymbal cleaner, and a cowbell/ tambourine with mount kit. Have you ever used a cowbell or tambourine in any performances?

This is fucking insane. Perfect cover. I have no idea how you would even go about trying to learn the fill at 2:34, it's blindingly fast.
@maxadrums7 жыл бұрын
Haha, thank you so very much, James! Not to ruin the magic - but the fill is pretty simple. You just have to build it up slowly. It's a very common group of "R-L-R-L-K-K", just that it's at a pretty insane speed! Definitely not easy, but quite simple! Thanks for the kind words.
@jamesfleming11557 жыл бұрын
I meant more in the sense of figuring out what he's actually playing, not physically playing the fill itself (although I'm sure that's hard as well).
@TyranodindusRex8 жыл бұрын
Man, I had lost hope of one day finding THE guy who just played blink songs 100% exactly as Travis recorded them, without any shitty fills (sorry Cobus). Plus you dress like a normal person, thank you for that. The good mixing and filming are just the cherry on top. Douchebags "Travis lookalikes" who own OCDP kits but suck at playing drums should watch your videos. Thank you ! P.S. : Please, make more blink/boxcar covers, because they are the only good ones.
