It doesn't fit at ALL with everything else they've done before it and is just trying way to hard to prove they can be "emo" when they never needed to be. They had their own style. i personally think that from enema to pre BCR/pop disaster tour blink was the true prime of band, 1999-2001.... the mark and tom banter was at its best and almost felt like stand up comedy and the setlist were pretty great and tom sounded the best during that time, before he got his back injuries but i do think this is the coolest the band has been, playing even faster than before and slightly more aggressive, it just captured the self titled era pretty well, but i think tom got way clumsier on vocals and it was kind of a downer for me....and well maybe i dont enjoy this era as much because i know its kind of the end of blink so it feels kinda bittersweet, knowing they werent getting along at all and just a few months later they broke up the band

I’m 34 years old. From L.A. And been into this band since 1996,. Everyone always said how shitty they sound. But that’s considered normal in the genre they always performed, it never sounds exactly like the album, they never played to a track, a click or lip sync, it was always sped up, vocals a little off note with music, but that’s normal. This was a very good live band. From 1999 to 2002 I went to about 40 of their shows, so I got to see them play the same exact sets days in a row and some days you could tell it was work to them, but for a 3 piece band it was always very....good.

Their best gig in my opinion, they were on fire here, don't know if the tensions at the time added to the aggression and intensity but it's AWESOME. You can tell as well with the interludes in Rock Show, Stay Together for the Kids, I Miss You, Adam's Song, the outro and Tom's picking before Down, and the intro to Asthenia they were naturally going in the sort of direction Tom went with Angels. The atmospheric vibe, moody and eerie echoes, delay pedals etc. Gutting they broke up, we would have got some game-changing, amazing post punk style records.

@jahlian9669 agreed. This is their peak sound imo. Also love this breakneck speed their playing at.

I freakin LOVE Toms voice, it's so over pronounced and nasaly but it gives the songs so much character and it's just damn fun to listen to

Yeah but it is not nasaly. It comes from the throat. I would call it scratchy..

Michael hell no this Is when they started falling apart. You can so easily tell lol. There’s so much weird tension between Tom and mark. You can tell they don’t give a shit anymore I mean look at that all that small things performance that Shit was wack. You can just tell their over each other and their over some of the songs. Plus you can see the beginning of Tom becoming the douche he is now. Late 90s early 2000s pre self titled will always be there prime imo
