Early Travis Barker was a blistering demon. He’d eventually learn to lock in and keep solid time, but here the other guys barely can keep up. I love it though. It was part of their early sound.

I've always been fascinated at how fast he is and how far back his sticks are going here to hit hard. Still super tight at that. He's around 22 here. This Travis inspired me more than anything.

He didn’t become a part of Blink until around 1997 - 98’ … Mark and Tom didn’t even know who the heck he was!!! The ONLY reason they met, was because of the WarpTour and the band (The Aquabats) that Travis was in was part of WarpTour too… 🤷🏻♂️ *I think your history is a little skewed… I grew up down the street from where this band was formed. Poway, CA
@mivvy3182 Жыл бұрын
@@pears0094I think Travis played with them for the first time in the States in early 1998 just as a temporary replacement for Scott, then Scott was kicked out shortly after an Australian tour in ‘98 in like July when Travis joined. What’s really crazy to me is that they wrote and recorded basically all of Enema in that short time frame after kicking out their drummer and getting a new one

@@mivvy3182 Not to toot my own horn, but my buddy is Tom’s current manager, and my roomate used to work for Atticus/MacBeth… I’ve been surrounded by all things “Blink” since about 2001… Travis played with them the first time on Warped Tour while still in the Aquabats… He learned their set in about an hour and things unfolded from there… They were already a little weary about Scott, because he was missing shows and drinking too much… 🤷🏻♂️ that’s the history that I’ve always gotten…
@pears0094 Жыл бұрын
@@mivvy3182 they actually wrote a lot of those songs on enema of the state with Scott!!! Travis is such a phenomenal drummer that it wasn’t hard for him to just jump right in… Travis is a trained musician… Not self taught like Mark and Tom.

@pears0094 thats a backhanded complement lol Tom and Mark are also very established musicians and have been for years. Trav got his soul sold to the K clan so only a matter of time till shit goes sideways anyways while he's busy making the same tempo pop punk radio songs for mainstream artists
