@@felixpatete I actually like both Alkaline Trio and Blink. The current lineup bothers me for two reasons. Number one, Tom is necessary in Blink. Number two, Matt Skiba doesn't have any time to dedicate to Alkaline Trio when he has all these Blink responsibilities. It's like the worst of both worlds. We're getting a worse version of both bands.

I love Matt! But as good as this new album is blink won’t be blink unless these dudes can get along and have fun. That’s what blink is about with or without Tom. These guys need to drop the political bullshit and hang out together some time. (Other than music) that’s all they are missing..... still super happy it was Matt that joined the band over anyone else :) NINE feels more like blink than neighborhoods or California.... (sorry both albums are good) but it has that spark! I hope these guys are able to pick it up and run with it!

Matt just seems checked out. I get the feeling he thought he was joining a band and instead found out he's just a hired gun in an organization. Also if I was getting harassed for 5 years by Blink fans for not being someone else I'd be miserable too. Skiba is a made man in the Punk scene through Trio and has been since "Godammit" and Mark is trying too hard to stay relevant to teenagers instead of being the great depressed Punk songwriter that he is.

Putting writing credits on songs has become a lot stricter I think. If someone pops by the studio, hears a melody and says "hey, maybe try switching those last 2 notes" and that makes the final cut then they can get a writing credit. But who knows, maybe they all just wrote the songs for them
