Little story about Travis. Back in the day he lived in Norco, Calif. Blink182 was huge at the time, and my daughter was a big fan. I found out where he lived , and on the way to the beach that day with my family, I decided to cruise by his pad. My daughter had no idea what was up. Sure enough as we get close to his house I point to the house and tell her who lives there, of course, she thinks I'm BSing her. Well the stars must have been alignment that day because guess who comes out of a side gate...Yes Travis himself. He had his Rottweiler with him and they were about to go for a walk. My daughter begins to shit little green heliopters because she can't believe what she is seeing. She was about 13 at the time. I called out to Travis, apologized to him for any bother, and asked if he could just say hello to my daughter, a huge fan. Thinking he would tell me to fuck off, I crossed my fingers hoping for the best. He smiled and came right over said hello, signed his name onto a napkin ( we didn't have any paper) with a message to her. We told him that we also resided in Norco, and at the time also had a Rottweiler. So we talked about our dogs for a bit. He was Awesome, gracious, a gentleman, humble to a fault. He actually took the time to speak to me and my family, WOW. From that day on we have been loyal Travis Barker fans. My daughter, now 30 , still has the napkin, framed, hanging on a wall at her home. Travis is a great musician, but a much, much greater human being. Thank you Travis.

I met travis when i was the BIGGEST blink fan at their prime at the mark in davenport iowa when i was 13. They were MY band and i was a fanatic. We happened to be on the same floor as them in the hotel connecting and you couldnt even get on the floor if you didnt have a keycard. Tom delong and travis were both out in the hallway for atleast a couple hours just taking to all the people on the floor. I was in awe. Travis took the time to just shoot the shit for 15min or so with a random dude from ia that was 13 sitting in a hotel hallway. It made my world to say the least! I didnt have anything for them to sign/write with and tom took of the shoe he was wearing at signed it and gave it to me. Its sill at my rents place today when im 32. Travis Barker is the epitome of don't judge a book by its cover. He's one the best drummers hands down. Has an amazing heart honestly but looks like a drug addict who's been in prison. He's one my favorite people in music. He's been through hell with the plane accident and the 3rd degree burns and loss of his best friend because of it DJ AM but has maintained his understanding and joy of life. He's the fucking man. Edit: oh boy this post attracted all of the children. He's not Tool or Rush's drummer! Jesus christ man. I can play Tool and Rush on the drums with ease because I am a drummer. At the end of the day Travis would murder me. Stop listening to the genre and listen to the skill. If you don't think he could play or create odd time signatures, you're obviously not a drummer or at least a good one. Listen to what he does to a solid 4/4 pop punk song and how he makes it interesting.

Gosh, thanks for having Travis. I’ve loved Blink 182 since the late 90’s. My Hubby and I went to see them with No Doubt. It was an AMAZING show. So glad I got to see him.

I picked up drumming too, tried hard but didn't get famous. It's easy for people who made it to say it but only a small percentage get anywhere. Same with acting, comedians, etc.

Yes Travis! I recently fractured my ankle and heel and I refused painkillers and ibuprofen due to the research of it slowing down the healing process. My fracture healed in 4 weeks, and doesn't feel weak at all. I loved this podcast!

If the guy can type fast, just have joe ask quesitons, the dude types it out, and jamie or someone else can read it back. Or the guy can write if he can't type. It would be a little slower pace show than usual, and maybe even a shorter podcast, but it would be awesome, and I'm sure the guy would love a chance to "get his thoughts" through to millions of people, after not speaking for 20+ years. The irony. Would be pretty friggin awesome...... Upvote if you agree.

He said he fell out of love with old school cars but I feel like the most talking he did was about cars. I remember in like 2002 I had a magazine with Travis talking about his cars and they were absolutely wicked even back then. You can tell that's still something that excites him.

I was badly burnt too. It is horrific & I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I'm sure Travis has his days, just like any survivor, but you keep marching on, because that's what keeps you going.
