Little story about Travis. Back in the day he lived in Norco, Calif. Blink182 was huge at the time, and my daughter was a big fan. I found out where he lived , and on the way to the beach that day with my family, I decided to cruise by his pad. My daughter had no idea what was up. Sure enough as we get close to his house I point to the house and tell her who lives there, of course, she thinks I'm BSing her. Well the stars must have been alignment that day because guess who comes out of a side gate...Yes Travis himself. He had his Rottweiler with him and they were about to go for a walk. My daughter begins to shit little green heliopters because she can't believe what she is seeing. She was about 13 at the time. I called out to Travis, apologized to him for any bother, and asked if he could just say hello to my daughter, a huge fan. Thinking he would tell me to fuck off, I crossed my fingers hoping for the best. He smiled and came right over said hello, signed his name onto a napkin ( we didn't have any paper) with a message to her. We told him that we also resided in Norco, and at the time also had a Rottweiler. So we talked about our dogs for a bit. He was Awesome, gracious, a gentleman, humble to a fault. He actually took the time to speak to me and my family, WOW. From that day on we have been loyal Travis Barker fans. My daughter, now 30 , still has the napkin, framed, hanging on a wall at her home. Travis is a great musician, but a much, much greater human being. Thank you Travis.

He's one my favorite people in music. He's been through hell with the plane accident and the 3rd degree burns and loss of his best friend because of it DJ AM but has maintained his understanding and joy of life. He's the fucking man. Edit: oh boy this post attracted all of the children. He's not Tool or Rush's drummer! Jesus christ man. I can play Tool and Rush on the drums with ease because I am a drummer. At the end of the day Travis would murder me. Stop listening to the genre and listen to the skill. If you don't think he could play or create odd time signatures, you're obviously not a drummer or at least a good one. Rogan was cool and articulate as usual and Travis Barker has to be one of the most inspiring people he’s had on in quite awhile. Everything he’s gone through and overcome to be an amazing human being. After his accident he could of easily gave up on life due to his circumstances, but he didn’t. Barker powered through it and made it his bitch. Great podcast!
