Have 2 cameras about 20 feet up in the trees. Been 3 years now of the older version without the mic. They work amazing. Just make sure the branches are cleared away and no issues. And tune them to a proper sensitivity. The notifications on your phone will tell you if a camera is in a high use. The tuning functionality is very good.

So far I only have one of the 5 up. kzbin.infoUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe My son ran out of time, with motion detector etc. I have it over my garage door. It works great. Have seen a couple of cats, my dogs, when I am out front. And had a bee buzzing around right in front of it. It works very well. It even shows the neighbour's driveway, but only shows movement just past my own, which is very long. I highly recommend them.

I’ve had 3 for about 1.5 years. Remember, there’s a reason for the price. They cannot be expected to do everything well. That being said, I love ‘em. Night vision is not good out beyond 6 or 8 feet. Easy solution.....a $40 motion detection dual floodlights pointed the same direction. Goblins don’t like to be suddenly lit up like daylight so the break-in might stop before it starts. My batteries are lasting a good long time because I positioned and aimed them very carefully to not be triggered unnecessarily. I have a KUNA porch light and I love it. I don’t like the RING doorbell because it visually announces itself. The KUNA does all the same things but NOBODY has noticed it. I am planning to add more BLINK cameras. Dont forget indoor locations that are not part of your daily movements but are possible/likely entry points. You don’t want indoor cameras pointed at areas that you will be moving through regularly. You will get tired of them “crying wolf” and then you will ignore them when you shouldn’t. EDIT: Let me modify that last statement. Cameras are a good idea in your indoor high traffic areas as long as you remember to ARM and DISARM them at appropriate times. You can ARM and DISARM individual cameras separately by the little “running man” symbol to the right of the camera nickname/location.

I think Amazon Blink should send you a few more cameras as this video really helped in making a decision so thanks. I now have a module and five cameras with three more I just ordered on the way. if you use these for what and how they're designed you will love them. Just trying to help 👊 - Do not point camera out to a main busy street because of course you already know there will be plenty of motion and you'll get alarm after alarm. so set these cameras in areas where there should not be any motion (set it and forget it and get two years of battery life) and strategically point them, because you can (really free of wire). the thief sneaks around in the night (small battery powered cheap motion light near the camera helps the night vision tremendously) or out behind your home in areas that are almost never traveled. you just have to think about it and how you want these cameras pointed, personally pointing them out to a busy street (do as you like of course) is a waste of a good spot to point them. you can use them for monitoritoring but that's at the expense of the batteries so use them smartly. Also if anyone didn't know you can switch off the blue light on the front so no one will even know it's actually recording. do it in the back before mounting them by a little switch.

Bought (2) Camera set for $99 back on Prime Days. For $30 bought a solar panel..and no more changing batteries on one of the cameras. This is obviously not competing with a Dahua, Hikvision, Synology, etc..based system. But if you don't require continuous recording and you take the time to fine-tune it to your situation...it works surprisingly well.

I would say yes. Good idea, maybe not in weather however...I want to try this one in my Cat shelter, so the velcro would not be exposed to moisture from the weather and effect the velcro. A few questions if you have time. Apologies if these have been answered in other comments. 1 Can you share or save the videos from the cloud. Say I need to share it with law enforcement, can I download it or share to social, text etc? 2: Can multiple people in the home access the app/log in for the camera's? If so, can they make changes to the camera's? Can you set permissions or restrictions? If I'm coming home early, I don't need my wife notified. hahaha Could I disable a specific camera, or would she be able to access it still on her end? 3: Do you know with the most sensitivity, how long typically the battery life will last? I imagine 2 years is a generous estimate on the most lax of settings. Your thoughts? Excellent review, really well put together! With a few questions answered, I feel pretty confident making this purchase. Thank you kindly!

Gemster18, please help me out with what you just said. I was thinking about buying this camera to catch a porch pirate in my building and leaving the camera on for about 3 hours to catch them. So are you saying when the jerk opens the door and the camera is running it wont record them until 3-5 seconds?! please let me know I need to catch this person badly with all motion.
@gemster18
@gemster18 3 жыл бұрын
@@craigdonovan6879 hey Greg thanks for the question so to my knowledge, you can't have them run continuously. What you can do is arm them. And then if there is any kind of motion the camera will begin to record, what I've been seeing or what I should say is, what I've been noticing, is that from when the motion passes in front of the camera to when the camera begins recording there might be a two or three second delay. I'm actually going to run a live test right now and I will get back to you in a few minutes I want to see how many seconds between when I walk past the camera and the camera begins to record
@gemster18
@gemster18 3 жыл бұрын
@@craigdonovan6879 okay Craig so this is what I found, from the moment that I passed in front of the camera I do believe that it detected me and began to record, the only thing I did notice was that it took almost 60 seconds for me to get the notification on my Galaxy s9. so basically what that is saying is you would definitely catch the bastard that's taking your packages off your porch, but as far as interacting with him, similar to the ring camera I don't know if that's going to be possible? Because more than likely he is going to grab the package, and run! So if you're asking me for my honest opinion? I do think the blink cameras offer a little bit of security, I'm sure there's other cameras out there that are more money that may work better, but at this price point they're pretty tough to beat, and also as a side note, the night visibility is pretty damn good! Because I live in the suburbs, and it is pitch black in my backyard and I could still see all the way to my property line which is almost 65 ft. I wish you the best of luck, any other questions please feel free to reach out. Stay safe! And good luck to you!

I have filed a police report now I just want to catch the guy on camera its either someone upstairs or down stairs we are an indoor apartment not outside. USPS leaves packages inside the unit. I think its someone in my building I'm not sure. is the blink wireless? I have an iPhone 8 and I have wireless internet. @@craigdonovan6879 I hope you catch the bastard! I had exactly the same setup when I first got married I was in a garden apartment set up first floor and second floor and UPS and FedEx would always leave packages inside the hallway, but this was in the early '90s when the cameras weren't readily available so a lot of packages got stolen, and like you mentioned it's probably an inside job, someone in your building. You should get a couple of Amazon boxes and just set them up in front of your door you know like dummy boxes so you can trap this son of a bitch! You have no idea how this infuriates me! People should respect other people's property. Please do me a favor, if you can, please follow up with me let me know if you catch this low life! I work at Best Buy, It's affordable because 1. Despite the it having 1080P resolution, the video seems extremely compressed and the overall sharpness and vividness of it is lacking. 2. Notifications are sent after the video clip has been recorded rather than instantly. 3. The amount you get of free recording is 2 hours per month. 4. If you're in a high traffic areas, there's no way those batteries are lasting 2 years. 5. That clip can be easily taken off. It just snaps into place but it doesn't lock into place. 6. That tiny receiver base doesn't have enough range for people with 4 bedroom houses or houses that have too much obstruction.

Would you think night owl wireless would be better?
@shechshire
@shechshire 4 жыл бұрын
@@sophiadimarhos2932 In that case, those aren't 100% wireless cameras. They need to be plugged into a power outlet. They'll have more range and the video I would imagine wouldn't be as compressed. The better more expensive option to blink is Arlo and ring. Go for Arlo for savings I the long term. Go for ring for savings in the initial cost.

For the vast majority who do not require continuous recording, a Blink XT2 with a $30 solar panel in high trafficked areas is a good "starter" security video system. You could always get a second Sync Module to cover larger homes. But for the people I know with small to medium-sized homes, Blink XT2 should work just fine. In fact, as an engineer...for the cost I'm surprised just how well it does work.

My gf and I just setup this up in our balcony area. It has a delayed response. Someone can walk infront of it, then while viewing on your phone, that person walking will appear 5-6 seconds later. It also keeps getting disconnected from our 2.4gh wifi.

This might be a stupid question but can you watch a live clip when you’re not home? Or do you need to be connected to your WiFi?
@poconoboss
@poconoboss 4 жыл бұрын
You do not need to be home, you view the cameras through the app wherever you are. Your cameras are connected to your sync module which is then connected to your wifi which then connected to the app.

I have 7 cameras on my house. Even though I have the sensitivity turned up to 8 and 9 which is the highest sensitivity, you still have to be about ten feet (if that) away from it before it'll trigger. It'll sometimes pick up cars driving down the street but it lags and the cars and people or animals are barely in the video by the time it starts recording. $800 and a bit disappointed to say the least. Save your hard-earned dough.

The Sync Module needs to be placed in a location where it can communicate with BOTH Router and via a proprietary 900Mhz connection to your Camera(s). Look at the signal strength on your Sync Module and your Camera to make sure you have a good connection to both. If you're seeing less then 3 bars on your Camera or Sync Module, then you need to change their location or improve the coverage of your Router.
