US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in Beijing for talks with Chinese leaders in an attempt to ease strained relations between the two countries.
Ahead of a meeting with President Xi Jinping, he sat down with Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Tensions between the United States and China are high over a range of issues, among them the war in Ukraine. Following that meeting with the Chinese foreign minister, Anthony Blinken underlined the need to strengthen ties between their two countries.

As long as xjp clings to his mistaken belief that somehow Taiwan is a part of China, there's really nothing else to talk about. The island we now call Taiwan was from the very beginning, long before the Dutch and Portuguese began to trade and settle, distinctly separate from the mainland "Han" people. The original inhabitants, or more correctly, "aboriginals", were of "Austronesian" descent, both genetically and enthnicly speaking. For China to assert an "historic" claim is patently absurd. Nor does Japanese occupation or the ensuing treaties, post WWII. Ownership "by proximity" also fails to bring legitimacy to Chinas claim. On that basis, Cuba would rightfully belong to the United States. The real reason xjp feels a burning need to establish authority over Taiwan is this: The Republic of Taiwan's existence demonstrates to the Chinese people that a democracy, where people have individual rights, economic opportunity and self determination, is vastly superior to what they must endure on a daily basis. Perhaps, Hong Kong is yet another example of how badly life has deteriorated under the ccp. Ask anyone who lives there. Now, the good people of Taiwan had a choice to make. In the recent election, the voice of the people was heard. Despite Chinas best efforts and meddling in the elections, the people chose democracy, not totalitarianism. People around the world need to wake up and support Taiwans efforts to be a model of good governance. Lastly, it's high time Taiwan be included in the United Nations. It was, after all, Taiwan that was a signator of the charter and founding member of the UN. Not communist China. Cincinnati, Ohio USA

Perhaps a good starting point would be to acknowledge where the US and China are already successfully collaborating and cooperating for mutual benefit. Both sides are well aware of the issues and differences of opinion, yet some faith in the process and openness to resolution is important. Both sides will need to negotiate with each other to achieve some kind of compromise and mutual benefit, even if it takes several rounds of negotiation over time. Both countries -- and the world -- are much better with Sino-US relations that are responsible, respectful, diplomatic, effective and able to address challenges, and ultimately find, or create, some middle ground, which they can both agree on.

Most people in the United States do not know that the Manhattan Project, immediately after the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945, intended to launch a nuclear attack against the USSR, at a time when the Soviet Union and the United States were still allies. . According to documents declassified in 1975, the United States War Department developed a program on September 15, 1945, to drop more than 200 atomic bombs on 66 cities in the Soviet Union. Silenced for decades by history books and the press. Ukraine's objective was to weaken Russia for a "preventive" attack, as Biden said, the Ukrainian people are disposable and are being used as cannon fodder so as not to have to send Americans to fight the Russians.

China is moving ahead in emerging tech and don't know how western countries will catch up. US has imposed so many sanctions on Chinese companies but once they do that, another Chinese company rises with products that are needed elsewhere. I think the Western economic power are going through the inevitable of losing their industrial edge to an Asian country. The centre of power is migrating as it has naturally done for thousands of years. May be we should study cultural energy and how they change with time. If you don't know what cultural energy is, I don't know how explain it you but you need to go through so many near death experience videos in youtube until you come across one that an American veteran is talking about her near death experience and how she came to experience life as a human being to study cultural energy. Yeah, we are energy beings and everything we do or belief as an energy and the momentum of that energy is what determines the future you end up in. Time is nonlinear and the future is constantly changing depending on the momentum of the energy behind a given future.
