The best part about the pathing module is the fact there's basically a repository of marker packs within that module by itself that also UPDATES THE MARKER PACKS automatically! Between Taco and Reactif you basically have 99% of the game covered, but of note, Rediche's WvW pack is in there too. It's such a fantastic transfer of knowledge about good siege placements.

So would you say Blish Hud does the same in terms of pathing an gathering routes then Taco and Reactif guides? Because those I know so far and have been using for a while. @@RainbowCircus If you don't like Blish's pathing module from what I've read it is compatible with Taco's packs too. There's a section on the Blish site explaining where to put the taco files.

I'm VERY leery about mods and so on due to the "joy" of dealing with WoW and FF14 mods so it took a while before I gave Blish a try, but BlishHUD is honestly legit amazing, easy to setup, configurations can be a bit in the weeds but it is quite a bit of data it's front-ending to you. I'd say the *ONLY* thing I wish is that the pathing overlay was a bit more descript. say yellow lines for zone clear blue line for resources green lines for guild missions red lines for racing (get it, red line, get it.. get it... *sigh*) something like that, you get used to how it is now, but it can be a LOT of yellow lines *EVERYWHERE* if you don't tweak it's settings.

Once you get used to it it's not as bad, but overall Blish's is better in almost every way. Only practical reason to use TacO over Blish is if you dislike Blish's default markers (not sure if how to change them) or you want to place markers yourself (I place plenty of my own for my personal use - basically superior waypoints).

So I'm a big fan of playing WoW & FFXIV One upside is I have many addons in one with FFXIV's "mod manager" being a separate launcher. WoW has everything separate which makes it hard to deal with at times. Now in GW2 I see this? Love it!

This. For one, you can make it so much smaller than what Muk showed here, so it won't block 1/3 of your screen. For two, you can show/hide whichever events you do and don't care about, which makes it even smaller still. For three, YOU CAN REORDER IT HOWEVER YOU LIKE! Life is so much easier when I can drag the Canthan Day/Night cycle up to sit beside the Tyrian one, so I can easily see both at a glance.

The pathing module actually uses Taco packs if I remember correctly.

@@Ralesk Yup. TACO is open source to some degree and I think that's what Blish's module is using. I think TACO is still better at creating markers though.

Yeah, been using it for a while. Your Taco add-ons also work in Blish, like Tekkits guide. Just put the files in the folder like you did on Taco.

@@NaoyaYami BHUD uses it’s own pathing system (theyre coded in two entirely different languages, hard to share the code), and even has some exclusive marker attributes (fancy ways for pack makers to customize markers). That said, it was designed to be backwards compatible with existing packs. .taco’s are just zips with the pack info inside, anyways 😄 Currently BHUD doesn’t have its own marker editor though, yeah. So most pack makers use a mix of TacO and manual editing to create their packs

I had an issue where BlishHud would not overlay properly. A guildy suggested I change to windowed (I was in full screen), which fixed the issue for me. Runs perfect now.

Muk records everything needed, I just edit and add other stuff to it. The talking bits are usually with the raw audio for the "script"

if you type /talk your character does a talking animation, I then record my audio while that emote is going. Noxxi Cleans it up.

As an arenanet partner that is often on camera I have a LOT to lose if I break ToS. If they ever say they have a problem with this I would stop using it immediately, but that has not been the case so far.

I don't really do add-ons, but this seems cool. I could see a problem ANET might have eventually with the getting around build templates, something they actively sell to people, but other than that I would hope they leave it be and allow it w/out any probs. Which I presume they do now or you as partner wouldn't present it, I'm just saying that one thing sounds like a mod they could change their mind about later as it means you Don't have to buy something you otherwise would. Less of a helper, more of an exploit, if you catch my drift. I still don't get the radial mounts and then this thing's mounting requiring 2 steps each. I say just use 1 step, assign a button, and memorize it. Mount instantly w/1 press, but that's just my lil red wagon. It is only 9 things. For me it is ; j l ' , . ] [ 5 (number pad 5 that is for turtle, the least used of them all)

Been brought up a couple other times in the comments, but build manager module isn't any different than saving the template codes in a .txt file on your desktop and copy-pasting them from there...just acts as a fancy storage system. Physically that's all the module is doing - storing the codes and copying them to your clipboard when you want them. Radial mounts is for people who want to have all mounts bound to a single key...saves keys for other binds and is much less buttons to remember and press. Yes, it's technically two steps, but when you get used to it, you can do it very fast and as an added benefit don't have to move your hand off of WASD or the mouse to reach the keys. Many speedrunners actually use radial because it's simpler than fumbling with a bunch of extra keys and actually can be faster ^^

it actually is only an editable overlay you can create and or copy builds into, it wont change it for you tho - it just provides you the build key to copy/paste, so since it doesnt interfere with Arenanet's own system, and works the same as many websites that provide them, its fine ^^

Functionally, it’s no different than storing the codes in a .txt file on your desktop and copying from there. Or using a code from Metabattle or Snowcrows. Nothing to be afraid of there!

It can't interact with the game itself, so it has no cause for a ban. The reason the old dps meters (HoT era) had to remove their build templates was because they did the build switching for you. This one can't. It can only say "these skills and trait lines, in these places" and you have to copy it from the overlay and paste into the game yourself. This way Anet still keeps their money with the "1 click switch" but fans can store however many templates they want outside of the game (which was already doable, by the way).

I deleted Taco because I can't deal with the markers going through mountains etc and I was hoping with this program it would be different. Other than that it does look pretty awesome to me. Will still be searching for non headache markers. If there is non out there this will be it.

Probably because I'm using the Steam version of the game, what I have to do is: Open Steam> Run Blish HUD>Run the game from Steam After these two steps, everything runs fine.

Oh, it's like Taco. Overlays are so usefull for some contents, like guild race missions. Despite Taco having a ton informations it cn display, I must admit this looks like it goes a bit farther.

6:08 bit wary if opening _ANet Acc Management_ from within this application is safe enough. too much of a layman to rule out some kind of man-in-the-middle attack could siphon off the acc details. would it work if we go to ANets Acc Management site ourselves, generate the API key and copy/paste it?

It would work of course, the API key is a short string of letters and numbers, it doesn't matter how you got it, as long as the Guild Wars 2 API recognises it as belonging to one of the accounts. But also that button does nothing more than open a URL in whatever your default browser is - it isn't an embedded browser frame or anything, and as such has 0 control over the contents or the traffic.

Good video and neat explanation A few questions since I'm paranoid I assume this is currently allowed by Anet under the umbrella of ''we didnt say its not allowed'' yet Is there any chance this addon may get outlawed by anet for the builds module? Seeing how it negatively impacts anet's sale of build templates? Id love to use it but wouldnt want to risk a ban

Remember is a OVERLAY is not going directly into the games files, that do not also impacts on the build templates(if does is just a easy fix by the creator and anet). We never got ban for years since addons was create since they never impact directly in the game files or anything else. I've been in game over 10 years and use addons/overlays for years too and all cool.

The Builds Module is no different than saving the codes to a text file on your desktop and copying from there. Or taking a code from Metabattle/Snowcrows/etc. Functionally the module just copies the code to your clipboard, there’s no way for the game to know where it was copied from. If they were against people copy-pasting codes, they wouldn’t have included that function to begin with 😄

As far we know, they have even wiki for the addons/overlay. Mostly is overlay so not directly in game. Many of us use for ages and never got a problem using etc
