Blists Hill Victorian Town

Sylvie and I visited the Blists Hill Victorian Town, near Ironbridge in Shropshire. Blists Hill is a living museum where the staff wear Victorian clothes and work in various occupations exactly as they would've done over 120 years ago. A day here gives you a real experience of life in Victorian times.

Went there probably 30 years ago and really enjoyed it. Looks like there's more to see now

We went twice last week. Our ticket is valid for a whole year. It was like being in another world.

The ironworks was working the day i went watching them handling and rolling the red hot steel was amazing

Dad served his apprenticeship at a steam locomotive yard and workshop. He loved steam engines, was a very fine engineer and used to take us to living history museums, whenever he could. You know I love to ride horses, David, but I also know how to drive in light harness. I wish the World was still like this, I really detest the modern World. The Old World was not perfect, but in a lot of ways it was a better and fairer place to be…
