I really wish I watch this before I did mine 😂 😂. Getting those 2 bushings out on the diff took me a few hours because ya I bent them all up.

10:07 the bushings are metal. Maybe you could freeze them for about 2 hours, and heat the actual subframe cups just before putting them in. They should slide in without needing the mallet. Only thing I'm curious about is if freezing the bushings will damage the finish.
@SERIALNINE2 жыл бұрын
You can def freeze them! They slide in no problem when frozen.

I would grease the Alloy bushings to allow them to slide into the subframe, but also prevent any creaking that might occur. Also makes it easy should you want to remove them one day. But great video!

They're held very solidly once bolted in and cannot move whatsoever. We've also never had them creak in over a decade, but grease or other boundary layer wouldn't hurt if you wanted to use that!

@@SERIALNINE it’s similar to putting anti seize on a bolt. It’s just always good practice when you have metal on metal contact.

Are the front subframe/chassis brackets actually needed?
@SERIALNINE3 ай бұрын
The front brackets support the subframe bolts in double shear. They increase the chassis stiffness and also the strength of the joint. One thing to note is when doing solid subframe bushings, you're essentially using your whold subframe as a chassis brace now as its added solid contact points to the chassis.

Is that suppose to be 127 N*M torque spec for the subframe? That is 94 ft/lbs, want to make sure!
@SERIALNINE3 ай бұрын
It is 94lb/ft !

How is the nvh
@SERIALNINE3 ай бұрын
NVH is good but also relative. Many cars do not even have subframe bushings. They're mainly for higher end or luxury cars, so eliminating them makes a small difference but the handling and response gained is well worth it. HOWEVER if you do solid diff and subframe the NVH is increased for sure. Our poly diff bushings are more responsive than stock but not as transmissive as our DELRIN solid bushings. With that said, our DELRIN diff bushings have much less NVH than Aluminum versions.
