This is a blitz chess game I played as white with time control 3|2. The opening was the Sicilian Defense, English Attack. It's an opposite sides castling game. The name of the game is to create open lines (pawn breaks) on the side of the board where the enemy king resides. A great emphasis should be placed on time, and each should strive for an initiative.

8:56 you had 0.2 seconds, and then the very next move you had 0.1 seconds. Classic Jerry. Glad you at least pulled off the draw after the botched win with such unreal time pressure.

Happy New Years to you too! I have a question at 17:32, wouldn't that be checkmate instead of a fork if you move your Queen to H7 which is then supported by the G6 pawn?

At 4:39 can you not play Bishop B6 attack the queen and then take pawn A5?

Yeah, the lichess analysis board is strange. It immediately gives white +0.8 when c6 of the Caro-Kann is played and then slowly goes back to 0.2.

You could have done pawn to C7 then rook to D8 I suppose, check on him if he decides to promote

Hi there, I love your videos and commentary and all, but why do you keep arguing with stockfish? :D Do you think that you'd be better off because the combinations stockfish is considering a human wouldn't?
@ChessNetwork
@ChessNetwork 8 жыл бұрын
+Oh no, you didn't! This causes cancer. Thanks. It's only in somewhat closed positions where the evaluation can potentially be off. The version of Stockfish that lichess uses is strong, but it can be off at times.

Stockfish compiled to JavaScript and run in your browser is probably several times slower than ordinary Stockfish running on your desktop. Still might be the strongest JavaScript engine for all I know.

What do you mean when you call it a sharp game? I've heard this used a few times, but have never really found an answer that satisfies me.
@ChessNetwork
@ChessNetwork 8 жыл бұрын
+xdocholidayxx Sharp...double-edged...critical All terms that basically mean the game can have a decisive result...win for white...win for black...advantages can shift from one side to the other quite easily...or ... "it's complicated". :D

I always assumed it meant a position in the early/mid game where the next few moves will determine the outcome if you don’t play them correctly and in the right order - ie only one or two available moves must be played next to keep you in the game (thus a sharpening of the options available)… The opposite being a strategic position where there are fewer capture threats on the board and a wider range of moves would still be considered playable

I did a deep analysis with Komodo and I believe 7.Nb3 is an inaccuracy .I have seen even Carlsen plays it but it's not optimal and if you play it against me it's fatal.
