Wow nice game Jerry, the position after move 22 really goes to show the weakness of doubled pawns in an endgame. Material is dead even but the double pawn really gave all the odds in blacks favor with the bishops and pawns on both sides.

I'm sure somebody has already commented on it, but I finally got to hear you swear, even if it was accidental. Today was an exciting day.

Great content, as usual when it's made by you. :) I like that we are getting more frequent videos now over the holidays; it's nice to have videos to watch during all free time. BTW, I think you missed a letter in "stripped" in the description. Could you play the Ponziani opening in one of the upcoming videos? :)

Jerry, I saw mate early in the game. You could've taken his f2 pawn and mated him…assuming you had your King Bishop supporting your Queen.

Hi Jerry, thank you very much for this game! do you analyze each game you're playing like this? would you recommend that players with rating of about 1600 (on chess.com) do the same? (it seems to take a lot of time). btw, how do you use stockfish on chess.com games? thanks and waiting for future uploads =]

Jerry, i've been looking at your playlist Analysis of Famous Chess Games. Excellent stuff. Do you think you could analyze Glucksberg vs. Najdorf, a.k.a "The Polish immortal"? Thanks for the channel and all the effort you put into it. Makes my day every time you upload a new vid. Happy new year

Wow, that was some nice endgame, went straight for the queenside and exploited the passed pawn. I'm still an amateur player so there's no way I'd be confident making such a decision to trade down like that in the middle game...
@thelazymanatee2506
@thelazymanatee2506 8 жыл бұрын
Trading down in the middle game is not something you need to be confident about. Just only do it when you are up on material, or if your pawns are capable of becoming passed, while the opponents can't (because of doubled pawns or something, like in this game).

2:42 Why take with king? That way you can´t castle, so you can´t connect rooks and by castling your king will be safe. Also taking with a rook would be placing him in open file!
@GrumblingGreg
@GrumblingGreg 8 жыл бұрын
+Michał Panek yes that makes sense but then moves his king back to capture the rook again on move 21 wouldnt capturing with the bishop there be stronger keeping his king in that position being able to strike at A pawn or C pawn in 2 moves either way?
