it’s basically exactly like that ESPN show “Playmakers” that ESPN pulled quick because it was too real and it had steroids, pain killer addiction and domestic violence but it was really well made. it should’ve been on spike tv . it being on espn got it canned quick

I gotta admit I definitely prefer the sequel to this game. Blitz the league 2 improved on the visuals of the first, the injuries looked more visually impressive and brutal, the story mode was really fun to me, the late hits leading to you being able to physically attack the player was great. The gameplay felt better too

I remember seeing adds for this when I was a kid and my mind was racing on how a football game could be M rated Years later my parents bought the game for me and I really enjoy is and to this day I still do. (Same goes for it's sequel which is the superior game but not improved by too much from the first game) I'm a sucker for sports games that make up their own teams and lore. I guess I just like seeing something different that what I already have in reality

the sequel is so much better then the first and is well worth your time if you choose to review it. Mostly because the lore of the league is expanded upon and the improved story mode that works like early 2k myplayer mode.

Mutant League Football is the closest thing we have to another Blitz the League game. It plays very similar with even dirty tricks(dirty moves) you can use to injure or kill your opponent. My team tactic is to constantly attack and kill the QB to force a forfeit from the other team. My team sucks at playing fair so by the time I win from forfeit my team has like 7 points to my opponent’s 30 points.

Blitz the League was my arcade football holy grail. I remember LT advertising it on espn radio when it came out. And I wasn't disappointed. Game mode was relatively simple but for still entertaining for my skill level. And as far as the extras like choosing team unis, muah chef's kiss! You were for thorough in you description but the one feature I was hoping to hear about was the soundtrack. Bro! To this day I'd put it up against any other video games' music. I mean you've got the Beatnuts😮 some sick heavy metal. And it was the 1st time I'd ever heard the Visionaries who are still one of my favorite hip hop groups. Pangea and If You Can't Say Love are no question their 2 biggest hits! ❤ So yeah, a lot good memories with this game.

I never played these games. Was never huge into Blitz in the first place, but The League always looked like "Hey this game isn't good but we got STEROIDS!" I was working at Gamestop when this game was on store shelves and no one ever had anything good to say about it.

I would rather have an edgy football game arcade or simulation than a football game by the No fun League, I would rather have a Mdickie football game than a 2k or EA game, I would rather have a football game that gives me more player, arena, or team customization even with equipment out of madden the Yard mode that an overly strict No fun league will not allow (unless you're a NFL player who gets fined on a daily-basis), I would have a football game where I can watch a CPU ran game or season with teams and players of my own creation with more arcadey flair even if it turns into WWE or anime, I would rather have a game where you can play different formats such as regular, college, Canadian, arena, LFL football maybe a hybrid of each if rulesets and formats were that customizable, I would rather have a football game with backbreaker to TABS ragdoll tackle physics then the same canned animation, I would rather have a football game that meets the infamous small violent details then ones that the no fun league censors to protect its brand and business. if anything I would rather have a football game that's all of this than a game with the No fun League licenses.

The announcer giving bland commentary was intentional. It was to show the perception gap between spectators n players. As far as the announcer n fans know, the players are just passionate about the sport. But I'm reality, they're trying to maim each other on the field. Also, season modes never made sense to me. They always give the option to simulate it. If i can skip an entire mode, with the only payoff being seeing stats that i had nothing to do with, why put it in the game?

Blitz the League didn’t go far enough. They should have had career mode where you create a player and you get to live out the most screwed up moments in player history. Press B to open your legal team menu and pay off a family. Accumulate clout points to win over public opinion in mini games.
