The scene with Volibear and especially the scene in Ramshara really illustrate why Nunu and Willump are essential characters to understanding the Freljord. Nunu’s view of the Freljord is lacking context, sometimes even naive, but that doesn’t make it untrue. The Freljord is brutal and tragic and terrifying but it is also adventurous and beautiful and even fun. Nunu and Willump are not apart from these darker aspects, there’s fear and grief in their stories too, but they focus on the parts that can get lost in the darkness, the songs and the games and the adventure, and that makes the Freljord deeper and more interesting than pure darkness would allow.

I like how both Ornn and Voli express a sense of respect but also a sense of urgency, to show that THERE IS A LOT OF STUFF COMING UP, and Nunu is the symbol of that

58:10 noticed a cool effect here, and I think this is a constant throughout that entire section in the cavern: the sound of the wind seems to carry along not just the cold gusts, but sounds of battles long past. these wails and battle cries disappear the moment Willump and Nunu walk outside.

Fun fact: in LoR Volibear has a voice line in which he explicitly says he's glad he never gets flower offerings because they aren't fun to bite. I really don't think he cares about smelling flowers.

Regarding "Lissandra coming from a position where she's already lost" - which is such a poignant way of putting it - I find that it makes her a really fascinating character foil for another Major Region Villain, Swain (who I understand to also Know About The Void And Trying To Stop It). He, too, believes in strength as weapons and war, domination and control - he, too, knows of the Horrors [TM] (thanks to his demon that has likely told him about the Void) - but despite his relative age as an older man, and his cynical way of viewing the world, he is STILL (arguably naïvely?) optimistic in that he believes that if he can just unite the entire mortal world (under Noxian domination), *together* humanity (and others) will be strong enough to Defeat The Horrors. Idk, I think that's interesting :)

~2:20 - I am SO fecking glad you noticed that. Was driving me nuts... also, THEMES~ I am of two minds on this game: one is delighted at every move it makes and in awe of every design in it so far. The other is wondering if the pacing could be... slower than intended. I think that's years of fast-paced, Nintendo-flavored, neon-colored collectathon platformers that knew no shame in packing in as much as they could into even the shortest experience talking. I'm sure of it. Song of Nunu is... peaceful in comparison. Meditative, almost. ALmost. Eh, I'll save judgement until the end... To explain, I get nervous when puzzle platformers, and any kind of scratch-your-head puzzle games, give you a puzzle like that vine one last episode. I immediately thought 'this is either gonna be two seconds or ten minutes, there is no in-between'. I was... half right. But it turned out to be quite eloquent... but I'm quite sure I would have been stuck longer as they didn't give me the chains in any form before hand... but they show you that the blast travels between with the ice... but the ice is different, so how would you connect that? I dunno. Puzzles are a crapshoot. I see why Windwaker and Twilight just gave you straight lines and circles in their dungeons... Puzzles are HARD, man. XD

i have a theory, like in the Lol game you have the blue orb that descends when anivia's passive is triggered. what if that is the heart of the blue and like in nunu's dreams he is guided by anivia back to her. so i think nunu is the heart of the blue. idk, high possibility i am wrong tho, sorry for the bad english

people may have had their nitpicks about Ekkos and Sylas game, i feel like those were gameplay games, they had some issues that could have been resolved with more polish but the gameplay was better than the writing, bc there were some story flaws in both (Demacia has a TON of issues the story escalated faster than the region was built up to handle it) But this game feels and The Ruined King Game, like they fired on ALL cylinders. The world design is SO nice, imagine Rengar/Kha'zix monster hunting in a place like this (oh ig there was the Ziggs game too...). Was nvr expecting Volibear to go thru with trying to kill nunu, but he is less menacing than i was expecting. Conclusion: more STORY driven games riot!

I may be hard to please here, but my opinion of Ornn holds true with Volibear. They speak... too fast in my opinion. They are existences so *great*, I feel like they shouldn't care to speak in a fast, companionable way. But slower, with more emphasis, like the fact that they are speaking at all is an exception to the rule.
