Ever since I first saw Blk Lbl at SHOT Show many years ago I've really liked their handguard-integrated bipods. They are completely slick and unobtrusive when folded up, but offer a good range of motion, stability, and adjustability when deployed, while being lighter than all but the lightest polymer detachable bipods when combined with a handguard.
In addition to making these units for the AR15, AR10, Tavor 7, Tavor X95, Tikka, and MDR platforms, they also offer them for the Q Fix (and also SIG Cross). I'm very happy to have one on my Fix!

While I do believe that is a lot of money for a setup, at the same time I think spending a lot of money on one gun you use often makes a lot more sense than buying a bunch of cheap safe queens for the same amount. There are too many people who think owning lots of guns they never shoot makes them proficient with firearms, and that couldn't be further from the Truth, it just makes you a loot piñata and your home a giant loot crate.. Train, and train some more.

Ya know... I've been watching since the early days, the intro music, when it looked like things were filmed in 480p - and never really commented much. But I'm compelled to say, a funny as it sounds, that i'm real proud of what you've achieved on youtube and beyond. You were the little guy I could see parts of myself in back then and always hoped you'd do well. And now you're building a fantastic collection, authoring and publishing books, and get to own genuinely beautiful rifles like the Fix. Good on ya dude - keep on educating about and dorking out on firearms, and focussing on the factual over than the political. It's taken you far, and long may that trajectory continue. Thanks for all the interesting vids!

Scopes with build in rangefinder arent that new in market. Old ones just had numberic value to tell how far but everything else was up to you. New ones varies a bit but usually they have either multiple reticles which light on what you should use as center of target aiming or totally digital which draws whole reticle to match ballistics you have inserted to them. Overally quite lot of variety depending how old and price level.

Two things. First, I have a Blk Lbl bipod handguard on my Tavor X95, and it really improves the rifle. On that platform, it has a contact point at the front on the top pic rail and is quite stable. Second, I finished my homemade version of the Fix. It's a light weight 700 clone with the Faxon 8.6 12" and a Pork Sword chassis. It comes in a 5 lb. 10 oz without scope, bipod, suppressor, so just 4 oz heavier than the 12" Fix. This also has a flat bottom handguard and a built in ARCA rail, so I can use the same accessories I'm use to on my other precision rigs (bipod, bag, etc.).

Colorado doesn’t have any restrictions on SBRs that go beyond federal law, except a thing about how NFA stuff is illegal with possession of a “permit or license” to own it, and your $200 ATF extortion stamp legally qualifies as the correct “permit or license” under the law. ATF approves form 1s and form 4s without any issue, and you’re fine taking an SBR anywhere in the state, except for Denver and a couple of bits of public land owned by Denver.

@Kesssuli

Microphone in camera just cant record gunshots right and typical speakers at home wont be able to repeat that either. 8.6blk and 300blk supressed are quiet in rifle standards but still not exacly something you should shoot as daily basis whitout protection. Even 22lr sub trough a supressor is around 110 decibels at a muzzle. Rifle calibers will create much more pressurised gas to escape from a supressor so those just simply cant be more quiet.

@@armstrong2052 I think trying it out would convince you, & I’m quite certain there’s a bunch of videos on YT reviewing the hand guard with bipod that go much further in depth than our much-respected gun Jesus does here. I can only speak from my experience & background since I’m not an engineer, but I rarely recommend any product, & personally I think both the hand guard & bipod are top tier. I’m not certain what you mean by “fully adjustable,” but the bipod legs both extend & (obviously) retract with a ton of locked stops until they’re fully extended, & the hand guard also rotates along the axis of the barrel while using the bipod, & it has an integrated ring for controlling the tension of that rotation. You can lock it out so there’s no rotation at all or loosen all the way for free rotation, & of course adjust that tension for everything in between. Rarely have I come across a product that does everything it sets out to do so well. Also, kind of important depending on how you hold your rifle with your support hand, the hand guard with included bipod isn’t so fat that you can’t still use a c-clamp style grip with your support hand. But yah dude. Go watch some videos, go try it out. It is expensive as hell (for the bipod included model), but it’s one of those rare products that I think is 100% worth it.

@methodsocratic I'm a snob with bipods, I have good Atlas and MDT pods. The minimum quality pod I use is a magpul. I've had cheap cheap Amazon ones. So I've seen the spectrum of them. I just want lateral, circular, and cant for adjusting. I don't expect the feet to be replaceable due to the size constraints. I'll just have to give it a go, I guess.

The handguard is a novel idea, though quite pricey. It is worth developing further. I'm sure subsequent generations will improve the design and lower the cost. The 8.6BLK is what it is, not quite as useless as the 300BLK. After my last customer service/ warranty issue with Burris, I will never touch anything with Burris written on it again. The setup overall does make for a good pig population control device. If you don't mind spending that kind of $$$ to be the cool guy at the hunting lodge.

It's clean I will give you that but if the handguard is flexing from the stress and movement of the bipod I see that as a durability issue. If it breaks I am looking at a new hand guard instead of just detaching a broken bipod from my pic rail and putting on a new one. I just don't see this being all that great outside of a very niche "I must have a ultra clean, no snag rifle setup with a bipod.".

Ian, could you check your video footage right at the 30 second mark... looks and sounds like you had a round go between you and the camera. The most concerning is the object moving left screen to right screen and the sonic signature on your mic.

It's an insect. Play it frame by frame you can see it clearly.

If you step over that region of the video frame-by-frame (Use your "," and "." keys on a computer for frame-level reverse and forward, respectively, and use the right-click-on-video menu to bring up the "Stats for nerds" display (not kidding). The "t" value in the "Mystery Text" section is the frame's time with 100ths of a second included.), you can see that the object travels right to left. It enters, right, at about 30.95 and makes its last appearance, left, at 31.05. That means it's taking 0.1 seconds to travel a distance that's, at most, in the low tens-of-feet range, so, whatever it was, it wasn't going very fast, but yeah, there's definitely something flying through. Note - it appears KZbin has some drift on their timestamp-related math (greeeeat quality), so the 100ths of a second value may be somewhat off from what you see, but they should be close, and total travel time should be the same.

You know when you compare the price to a high end hand guard and high quality bipod. The price is very close and generally it will be slightly lighter

Just one looks and can see. If countries that wants rid of pests, allowed the pest controllers to really put the effort in with nice situations, instead of mass poisoning and destroying the micro life, by gosh the world would be a different place.

It bothers me a little that q kind of shit on this very cool little product for a reason like that. It's a bolt action. Why would you be aiming with a laser?
@MrDerushingo

Because they make their products for larping snipers/ninja assassins. I guess they hate the idea that they accidentally made a cute little scout/hunting rifle. Or they are actually retards who hunt with lasers...

Not overly surprising to hear that Q was dismissive, especially if it was the owner/founder. Having seem the guy talk about his products on TFB and other channels, dude comes across as a major snob.
