The bloater looked cool as heck. Kathleen can suck shit. But man still such a tragic end. Ellie didn't panic when Sam showed the bite. She knew he was scared so instead she tried to calm and comfort him by convincing him that her blood works as medicine and he wont turn. She stayed there by his side. They were great friends. And just her shriek when Henry shot himself- God it really hits hard man

When you analyze the Sam turning scene, he had asked Ellie to watch him so if he turned she would be ready and get help so he wouldn't hurt her, they probably both fell asleep but he turned away from her and since he couldn't hear, he would wake up turned but without seeing her, he would not attack unless he directly saw her(again Sam not able to hear saved Ellie from being attacked in her sleep), his last act before he turned was to protect Ellie, he was the hero he dressed up as. This attention to detail just twisted the knife. 😭

I feel like I say this every time, Sarah is the best reactor on youtube imo. From her commentary, to her reactions, to her cute pets lol. As for this episode. I think it hit much harder than in the video game. Making Sam deaf was a change I didn't expect and I think gave the viewer more sympathy for his character. Just an all around sad ending for him and Henry. This show is now 5 for 5 in making me tear up.

There was a lot of infected that ran fast in last of us 2 they were called the horde it was like the when they chased Joel and Tommy and abbey and when they chased Dina and Ellie and chased abbey l remember them doing that a wee bit in the first game but not so many like the second game like a lot of infected running at you

Beautiful reaction! Definitely my favorite episode too. I think the scene where Ellie tried to help Sam by smearing her blood to his infected wound is a nice addition to the story depth, which didn't happen in the game. In the trailer of the 6th episode where Ellie explains that her "blood cure" didn't work with Sam, that scene probably builds up towards Joel's rational decision later to save Ellie from the Fireflies, aside from his feelings and affection for Ellie.

They really did make the infected super OP. Imagine that's how it went down in the sniper segment of the game. So many Ellie, Henry or Sam death scenes, lol. Hands down best episode yet! Also, looks like in the next episode we get to see Jackson instead of the dam in the Tommy reunion, and looks like we'll be getting to University of Eastern Colorado too.....

This episode is another reminder of brutal and unforgiving this world is, regardless of who you are. Something as simple as running across a group of infected has catastrophic effects to deal with and even doing what one may think is the right thing has consequences. It’s no wonder Joel closed his heart off in the first place. The quicker you get attached to someone, the more likely you are to lose them.

Ellie and Joel switch sides at the end. That was the Tess moment from episode 2. Ellie runs ahead while Joel is still waiting at the grave. Tess gave Joel a mission he wanted to fulfill as her last wish. The relationship that Joel had with Tess was similar to Ellie and Sam. Ellie promised Sam the cure here and couldn't keep this promise. She now wants to make sure that this never happens again. As Tess said at the time "save who you can save". Ellie really has a mission now. Indirectly get through her feelings of guilt. She wants her blood to work. Before that, she was someone who had no control over anything. Others have determined where she grows up and where she has to go now. Now that has changed. Now conviction plays a role and she takes control. She wants to save the world so that there are no more Sam's. And while Joel gradually finds his humanity again and lets people into his life again, Ellie loses a little more of herself and she takes the lead here in the end. In addition, Ellie and Joel have reached a new level of connection with each other. Wordless understanding. Both wanted to save the brothers during the attack. That wasn't Joel's "don't do it Ellie" look. That was the look "I'll give you fire protection Ellie". And Ellie has absolute confidence in Joel. There was also a little joke about the game. The moment when the sniper shot and Henry and Sam senselessly ran out of cover, only to return immediately. This is how Ellie behaved very often in the game. She was AI-controlled and she liked to do it. She ran out of cover, right in front of the enemy and then back again.

imagine living in a zombie world knowing there are zombies cant be killed by regular 5.56 or 7.62 and when you bring 50 people with you and not a single genius thinks to attach a grenade launcher to all those M16 or bring a flamethrower. they take down FEDRA so they did had access to their weapons stockpile. millions of people watching this scene and they all have a brain size of a peanut...no one ask how joel can fire and reload that fast. it is a sniper bolt action rifle so it means it dont have any magazine and only 3-5 rounds can be loaded in manually...lets just say there are a ammo boxing case near him under the ground...no way he can fit 5 ammo and fire every 10 sec for so many times.
