I love how you are breaking down each step! It makes it easy to understand and follow along. I'm still looking for the supply list so I make sure I have enough fabric to make all 12 blocks?
@TheSewingRoomChannel7 жыл бұрын
Hi Anna. At the very end of the video (last 20 seconds) in the top right hand corner is a link to the Beginner's Sampler Quilt playlist. In that play list there is a video called "Beginner's Sampler Quilt Supplies." Happy sewing.

@@TheSewingRoomChannel Hi, the supply list only gives for each block not the total combined amount of each colour needed for each block and the amount of fabric for border and backing.

Wonderful instructions. Clear and concise. I do have a question though. If I missed the information, I apologize. Is there anything written somewhere listing the total amount of yardage required to create the entire jilt. Thank you.

Going to try this cute block! You misspoke when going over the measurements for the block pieces. You said for fabric a, you would need two 12 1/2 inch squares. I’m pretty sure you meant that you would need to, 2 1/2 inch squares.

Hi Aunt Dee. In the video go to 01:38. When this block is done it will be a 12 1/2" square. In the video go to 01:38. I have written down the sizes of all the squares that you will need. T A = (2) 6 1/2" sq. A = (2) 2 1/2" sq. B = (2) 6 1/2" sq. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍
@auntdee967828 күн бұрын
@@TheSewingRoomChannel right. I was just pointing out that you said to CUT“12 1/2 squares” instead of saying “2 1/2 squares” which might have been confusing at first. It made me wonder if you wrote the wrong thing or said the wrong thing but then watched further that you did write the correct thing (2 1/2”)

what size will the finished quilt be? How much fabric will I need to buy for the total quilt (shopping list for this completed quilt) Would be much better than buying all at once rather than for one block at a time Thank You
@maryt28876 жыл бұрын
i have two questions. I don't see any replies to the other questions, but I'll ask anyway. First of all, what is the total yardage needed of each color? and secondly, for the bow tie block, why don't you trim off the fabric B corner as well as the fabric A corner? Wouldn't that make the block smoother? Thank you.
@TheSewingRoomChannel6 жыл бұрын
Hi Mary. If you are going to make the entire Beginners Sample Quilt and use 3 different fabrics, I would recommend you buy 1 1/2 to 2 yards per fabric color. If you want each block a different color from all the other blocks, then by fat quarters or purchase 1/4 yard. I hope I answered your question. Happy sewing.

I wondered why the corner wasn't trimmed as well.

I love your videos. I am a newbie to quilting. I am sure I will learn a lot from your videos and I am very thankful that you are doing the beginners quilting blocks.I am totally hooked on quilting.So you will be hearing from me a a lot. One of things I am having trouble with is sewing the 1/4 in. seam and keeping it straight. Do you have any suggestions on fixing this problem.
@janetehoffman7 жыл бұрын
Brenda Bixler You might consider putting some tape on your machine after measuring carefully 1/4" from the needle. I put several layers of tape making a raised ridge and my fabric butts up to the ridge.
@dianeread4 ай бұрын
do you have a hard copy of this sries? Also, how about how much fabric for each color for every square.

Hi Diane. I recommend using fat quarters (18"x20") or other scrap fabric. Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍
