With laying the tape down on your throat plate, add a few more layers on top of it to make a sort of 'ledge'. This will assist those who still tend to go over the single layer of tape while sewing.

Thank you Cheryl for your simple and clear tutorial on quilt as you go! 😊 Long before I found your channel, I made a quilt using this method, but I found the instructions confusing and, unfortunately, I made a lot of mistakes. I was not happy with the finished product. It ended up being quite a bit smaller and not at all what I had invisioned. I was so disheartened, that I was determined to never use the quilt as your go method again. However, I decided to take a chance on your tutorial because you are an excellent teacher, and I find your voice to be both soft and reassuring at the same time. And because you remain focused and clear with your instructions, I now find myself reconcidering, and seriously, giving this method another chance under your careful guidance. I'm currently working on other projects for the holidays, but perhaps this will be a good place to start off in the new year. I am so happy to have found your channel. Wow I did learn something new! I have a quilting ministry and this would be a way to make some really cute and fast quilts! I make all sizes from baby quilts to king size and I don't have a longarm so this would be perfect! It will allow me the opportunity to complete an entire quilt on my own.
