Greetings, Monsters!
When we first developed Block Buster, we aimed at challenging players, using a compelling rewards system (Wheel! Of! Karnage!) and a great theme. Today, we’re adding a ton of quality-of-life improvements with our latest update.
IT’S HARD BEING A MONSTER!
We knew making a city destruction sim would only scratch the surface of this genre’s bone breaking potential. We thought, if there is a challenge, then people will stay engaged longer. We appreciate the fact that you, the players, have expressed the difficulty being a little too hard for the type of game this is. That’s why we looked at our enemy engagement and made changes to them via difficulty modes. Now, players can adjust between Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulties.
EASY MODE: Enemies have been reduced in all levels and fire less frequently. The number of points lost for hit count has been reduced from 5 to 2. Enemy projectile speed is also significantly slower. As a result, though, Karnage Point values for enemies have been slightly reduced. Objective totals remain the same, though. Some level environment features have been scaled for this difficulty. You also don’t need to eat as many people or cars to grow. Maybe we should’ve called this mode, “Godzooky?” We don’t judge.
NORMAL MODE: The same Kaijutastic experience you’re already familiar with now.
HARD MODE: The mode that makes monsters quake! More enemies on all levels and they are quick to attack. The number of points lost for hit count has increased from 5 to 10. Also, get ready to duck and dodge because projectile speed is significantly faster. Of course, you get greater rewards - more Karnage Point for enemies destroyed. Objective totals remain the same. Some level environment features have been scaled for this difficulty. You will need to eat significantly more people and cars to grow!
ENEMY RADOMIZATION
SURPRISE! Enemies now spawn in random areas. We also adjusted the timing at which they spawn in as well as which types of enemies’ spawn in. We wanted to make every playthrough feel like it was different, and we hope you feel this is a step in the right direction!
PRIZES, GET YOUR COOL PRIZES HERE!
We’ve added more prizes to the Wheel O’ Karnage! Posters can be won and placed on the walls of all the rooms. There are common and rare posters available to win. These posters are the beginning of our new “wall mounted” collectibles. We plan to release more items that attach to your wall in the future. For now, dress those walls up with some cool fight scenes between our monsters and bosses!
GENERAL BUG FIXES
Thanks to your help, we managed to catch some bugs that affected gameplay in some BIG ways. We are pleased to report that they are fixed and should provide for a much better experience. Thank you again!

WHAT’S NEXT AND BEYOND?
With that in mind, our next update will include additional multiplayer game modes starting with co-op free play and potentially a new monster! We expect this to take a little bit longer than our previous patches, but it is our hope to have this implemented for our next major update. Looking beyond, we will turn our focus towards a PvP style game mode that will leave you blood lusting for more!
