Its so annoying how much "conflicting" information people give out in painting and bodywork overall. All that really matters is that Kevin has the obvious credentials, experience, collaboration, cars and material (that hes kind enough to provide) that render him the individual worthy of being the one to listen to. So annoying the amount of dislikes on this video and stupid comments here by people who appear to just be here to nitpick and point out any potential inconsistency or method that differs from what is "right" or "wrong." get a life people

Hi Kevin , what's happen ? Great videos you all do . Have a question concerning the proper primer to use on the inside of a new body panel , don't want any rust issues , If you know what i mean . Would using a self etching primer be good or just regular autobody primer . Thanks in advance for any input on this question .

Hey Kevin, I'm restoring a vehicle by myself and had a few questions: - do you recommend using the soft sanders for the initial shaping process (first coat of high build primer/first session of blocksanding primer) or would you recommend using something with less flex and deflection like a durablock, or something with absolutely no deflection like an acrylic block for the first session of high build, or is an acrylic block in general just better for straight panels from the get go until the higher grits? I used the blue soft sanders for the first session but after wet checking it there was still a good amount of waves (or what I think to be waves? - I can't find any side by side comparison videos for a car that has waves in the paint vs a car that has no waves so I can only assume them to be waves) or is this normal for the first session of blocksanding with 120 - is there any issue with wet sanding with 120 grit, then with 220, and further or should I start the initial blocksanding sessions with a dry block then switch over to wet sanding after?

you think he doesnt know that? my god if you think you know so damn much, why the hell are you even here? its about helping people learn the basics and providing fundamental understanding, rather than just trying to accumulate random facts. The first thing he says when he picks up the block is "they do flex, they do curve" you moron

wrong block for that edge. if you look there is only a very small area of that hard block on the edge. look at the first pass over the edge that he makes. 18.40. you can see that only about a quarter of an inch of that block is making contact with the surface of the door. all he is going to do is make flat spots . he needs to use a more flexable block
@linearblockingtools4064

step one is to use a block that is actually flat and doesn't give and lose form from pressure like all of the foam/rubber blocks do.
