My earliest memories of Blockbuster video are right around 1990 or so when I lived on Fort Leavenworth, KS (army brat) and every so often we'd drive to the downtown section a few miles away and hit up the store for rentals - I think they were 3 day rentals back then, and then hit up Subway to get some sandwiches and then go home and watch a couple of movies. I think we did this about once a month or so, and I'd even occasionally rent a video game for my NES. Good times. After adulthood, my sister wound up working in one as her first job and did that for a few months but left for other jobs for better pay. I don't remember ever renting Good Burger, but there were a whole slew of movies that we watched as new releases.

I really miss the Blockbuster days! I will say that we rented from Mom n Pop Video stores in our small town until the early 2000's and then Mebane, North Carolina got big enough to get a Blockbuster. I'm thinking it was 2000/2001. We had a Blockbuster and a Hollywood Video in Burlington, which was the next town over that I lived in for awhile in the 2010's. It seems like they started going under here around 2013.

Man… If home theatre’s were affordable, physical media would last forever. Nothing touches enjoying physical media in your 7.1 surround (or 7.2 if you’re super setup) personal space. It’s complicated due to some folks living in a shared space, such as apartment buildings. But there is a serious lack of faith right now in physical media. Many people assume it’s truly no better than streaming. Simply because they aren’t in the proper atmosphere to experience it fully. Seeing a new Blockbuster pop up is a breath of fresh air. I hope to see much more of this. Smart idea to cover this type of thing on your channel man. 👊🎬

when the last Blockbuster in my area was closing, I bought a couple of their Polo Shirts and regular T Shirts for fun and memoires.. they were still wrapped in plastic A buddy of mine wanted us to come back another day wearing the polo shirts pretending to be employees at the store and record it.. 🤫🙄

This is cool as hell but at the same time this isn't Blockbuster. You can't go in there and rent movies . It's not like the one that's still open I believe in Oregon. What we want is Blockbuster video to make a comeback. Cuz what's old is New again and those kids who were growing up in the '80s and '90s are now in their late 30s 40s and they have a yearning for things from their childhood and this is the perfect time to capitalize. lockbuster never relay died you can sill open and blockbuster store if pay Dish Network for use of the name. If you look at thier histroy you will find that they defited by themsefts for expull they had under the name New Left Entertainment they had kiosk renting way back in 1994. It failed because no movie or music companies came on broad. SEGA was the only company to listened their reprogrammed game carts and only 3 game companies came on board. It also had bad timing since with thing's like the PlayStation, Saturn and N64 coming soon the market so the market for SNES and Genesis games were dying so I fell that's why Nintendo and alot of game makers didn't back it. Also the computers used wound need to upgraded with CD-RW drives + the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn systems wound need to modded to support their CD-RW disks. Microsoft I think herat them the most. See under the name movie link they had a steaming video system long before Netficks was even an DVD by mail system. Se by pushing everyone to Netficks; Microsoft stopped them form going of business. That was the move that give Netficks the money it needed to win it's war with Blockbuster. That's why I say that it was Microsoft that put them into the money issue that lead them into filing for bankruptcy.
