Blockbusters wasn’t around in 1980

I they used a screen on the front of the contestants' desk rather than split screen in the early episodes.

The board was always superimposed onto the desk, but series one featured a fake screen to try and give the illusion that it was genuinely displayed on the front. The first time that the show ever featured a real screen on the desk was the Dara O'Brien version on Comedy Central in 2019.

That’s because Blockbusters didn’t become a thing until it was first shown in 1983.

Plus 1980 was the Bill Cullen version, which lasted from 1980-1982@@Vader535
