@RespectfullyReal3 жыл бұрын
That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard! Why would they tell off the customer who is paying their salary and buying wipes that state on the package “biodegradable” ?! Wouldn’t a more reasonable idea be to file a class action lawsuit against the manufacturer of the wipes? They’re scamming the public and costing them a fortune. These wipes are most commonly used by young children and the elderly, who are blissfully unaware of the damage it can cause, much like myself until recently. I stumbled upon a media report on the topic that brought me to KZbin. If it wasn’t for that I would have continued to buy them for my kids. It’s not common place for people to watch plumbing videos.

I live in the US, state of Mississippi, formally Virginia. Don't know what your "wipes" are/made of, but our toilet paper comes on a roll 1 thick or 2 thick. Tiny squares about 3"" x3"". Growing up flushed. Rare to stop it up. As I moved out on own, I rented for years before getting my own place. We never flushed. Put in a trashbag lined waste basket and took to trash area once or twice a week when trash was collected. Now I do same as I did then. Just take household bathroom trash to can at road for pickup. In 10 years no toilet backup. Some sink backup, but easily taken care of before allowed to get this bad. Gavin keep up the great work.

What sized 'bags' are you talking about: 1 qt, 1 gallon? // I had to check up wipes (flush-able wipes which are meant to be used in the toilet): "Do wipes block toilets? In your home. Flushed wipes will eventually gather in your pipes which will stop your toilet from flushing correctly, potentially resulting in sewage backing up into your home through your toilet. If the blockage occurs on a section of pipe you are responsible for, it can leave you with an expensive mess to get fixed." So, unless you put them in the trash (yuck) it seems best not to use them.

My wife use to work at a Sewage Treatment Plant. Wipes are a huge issue in the whole system all the way to its end - the screens in the STP get clogged up with wipes too, often the oil+wipe combo. Wipes should be banned unless the packets say "DO NOT FLUSH EVER" in big red print ! Sadly some manufactures push back, and continue to call their dodgy wipes "flushable" - none are, zero, zip, nada ! Bin-em people, FFS.

I do not know why people think they can use multiple wipes in place of toilet paper and expect it to go down the toilet. Most boxes of those that I have seen stay clearly you can only use one wipe per flush The other issue is that people use baby wipes in place of bathroom wipes and those are not flusheable at all.
