One of these days Ratty will make a video explaining all the beeps and squeeks of locating device.. .
@NoGGy3 жыл бұрын
I asked for this as well. No rhym or reason to the beeping. The device makes no bloody sense. It's just random beeping sounds.
@ngnmech3 жыл бұрын
@@NoGGy This is from the rigid manual Sounds of the Scout The sound is related to the signal strength. The Scout’s audio increases in pitch as signal strength ramps up, and decreases in pitch as signal strength ramps down. The pitch will only increase as the signal strength goes up. When the signal strength decreases the audio pitch will decrease until it reaches the bottom of its tonal range. If signal strength continues to decrease, the audio will ramp downward to a base-warble tone until signal strength begins to increase again
@bsmith20533 жыл бұрын
@@NoGGy Hi Scott, That random fluctuation of tones is due to the random noise the system is picking up. As the locator begins to get a stronger signal the tone gets more 'stable'. And the higher the pitch the stronger the signal, the lower the weaker. So you move the device around to locate a higher stable pitch which indicates you are closer to the source. He then moves it back and forth to confirm that the pitch drops and raises.

maybe they put the posts over cleanout, so it could be removed for access lol. on second thought, maybe the pipe sticking up is the boundry trap shaft extended with 45 bends or the line runs out to roadway at an angle. if they covered the vent, the shaft now doubles as the vent which is why it's left open? worth checking into guess lol
