It's ridiculous that plumbers and drain cleaners have to hunt and dig for inspection shafts and clean-out accesses below ground. They should be above ground, where they can be easily seen. I feel for ya, Bruce.

It's the same with the water shut off valve at the meter. If there's an emergency, how can the owner quickly turn off the water if they have to uncover it? It's amazing that 99.999% of them are like this

What if inspection shafts & clean out accesses weren't mandated by Minicipal Code? IN the third largest Metropolitan City in North America Toronto, Ontario this is the way it is ;)

In Oklahoma where I live, our clean outs are all required to be above ground and our back flow preventers are usually within 1ft or 2 from the clean out just passed before going to the city sewer system. I can’t believe how many times he seems to need to dig. Poor Bruce!!😅

As soon as you said it was non-compliant, I immediately understood why no plumber would touch it. They probably got the point you were at and realized what they were looking at... then refused to proceed further for liability reasons

Oh wow I just realised you have all KINDS of equipment. I made 2 really naive comments about modifying the hose a few videos ago and now I am really embarrassed. Of COURSE you guys have thought of stuff like that!! It never occurred to me as all this is entirely new to me. Now that I've had time to reflect (I've been home for a week and a half), I don't think I worried about their grease traps because deep down I knew you were taking care of it, somewhere. Good morning Bruce from the UK. Bruce you have inspired me. My missus and I have been binge watching your gurgler adventures for a little while and I have to tell you that today I got my German machine out, Mr K for Karcher. I spent 3 hour dressed in my gortex trousers and welly boots and a Tee shirt. first week of October and it's 19° C, what a bloody day for it.
