Had the same thing happen at my parents place. I was over for the weekend when the manhole in the driveway started over flowing. Fed by three more houses, and blocked at the next house down as he'd been messing about with his manhole and drains. Took the manhole cover off and we (upstream neighbour and myself) were getting rods down it. Some guy walking down the street decides to head up the driveway and start shouting at us about the sewage and how outraged he was. Yeah, we noticed, it's a blocked drain, are you offering to help? There's always an idiot.

God I love America cuz as soon as your neighbors know you're the guy with guns... that type of stuff never happens. Assuming you're not in America, just carry around a Giant crocodile dundee knife. You pull that mf'er out and say "that's not a knife, this is a knife" which is probably illegal in most western countries that isn't the us... in today's world the whole neighborhood watch mentality went out the window, it's everyone for themselves. If you assert dominance even at your parents house the neighbors will know not to mess around. The world is just more tribal than it was in the previous 50..80 years. nah the issue is, if that neighbor had an insurance claim because of the clog, he could potentially ruin their claim. Which seems like it would matter becasue the issue is solved, but if that person had a messed up water bill or had to fix anything, they cant get their money back now

@@JayeBass As far as insurance is concerned, there was an issue and DCA fixed it. If the neighbor needed proof of the issue, he could have asked for an invoice and DCA would've obliged. Instead, he shouted at him and tried to pick a fight. What is your reasoning that this would ruin an insurance claim? I honestly can't think of one. An adjuster would appreciate the proactivity in fixing the issue before it caused further damage that they would have to pay out. Get an invoice that describes the service he provided and there's no damage to any claim.

Now, this is something I noticed even in bad neighborhoods in the US, if you are going there to do a service or do something that improves the area even gang members will leave you alone. I deliver lumber for remodels, new construction and whatever else you'd need wood for and I make some runs to real sketchy places and have had gang members, more than a handful of times, come up and offer to watch my back while I did my job. I've even been passing through in my own car and they recognize me and grant me passage, almost like a courtesy. They would even watch the material to make sure no one messed with; rain, shine, sleet, or snow, they always had someone watching it in-person! I'm blown away by how many people get belligerent when someone is doing their job, or even something as a courtesy, that would benefit them! Mind blowing, man, just absolutely mind blowing. Anyway, never EVER let someone get you down because of their own BS, who knows, maybe that guy was the property owner and he was trying to strongarm his tenants into each paying him to get a plumber out. Who knows.

I work for a water and sewer department in the USA and I often have to correct this same issue. Well done! The only other procedure I would advise is using hydrogen peroxide or a bleach solution to kill bacteria in your rinse down but of course that costs money so maybe only for paying customers!😂

8 I work in construction and have dealt with idiots all the time , alot of time on thier hands add in drink /drugs and a few mental problems. I'd have give him some shit literally !
