Awesome!! Cant wait to try it. Reminds me of when i learned the 2 rail kick/parallel shift system, so easy but so useful. This might help get me over that hump from 580 to 600 lol. Keep up the good work other Drew.

It's called a tiki. That's what I've heard it called in billiards/3 cushion

You beat me to it for the proper name. Dr. Dave has some good examples of this shot as well.

Id like to make a request. Youve briefly mentioned two different types of english. (I dont remember what theyre called) but one comes from pivoting your rear hand and the other from doing something more like a parallel shift in which the entire cue is moved to the side of the ball in a more straight fashion. I dont remember which video you talked about these in, and ive been going crazy trying to find it. Would you please do a whole video on this concept? Thanks. ❤

Great video, as always. However, wouldn’t you measure from the center of the ghost Ball instead of the edge of the eight ball?
@DrawShotTV Жыл бұрын
The edge of the 8ball IS the ghost ball in this situation. Because you want the object to carom off the 8 and into the pocket.

I just want to let everyone know that his video on aiming with the side of the shaft has worked wonders for my game. It has made me SO much more consistent in shot making and defense. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend you implement it into your game. It's now the final step in my aiming process. I actually use 3/4 different systems on every shot. First I find my aiming spot, then I figure out my English, then I ghost ball it, then I fractional ball aim after I see the ghost ball. Them from there I aim the side of the shaft right at the aiming point I've determined is where I need to hit the ball in order to make it. Last night I probably played the most perfect match of my life. And that's a week after I just said the same thing after my last game. And the side shaft aiming system has made me more consistent more than anything else.

If your opponent called this shot as a safety would the made ball be spotted or would he just lose his turn?
@DrawShotTV Жыл бұрын
It would be loss of turn by bca rules. Ball stays down.

Looks like SVB lining up rail first kicks. Rumor has it he never missed one. What change does side or high low have on making the ball?
@tryingtolearnthis Жыл бұрын
You just hitting center cue ball?

Yep :)

How many tries did this take? You look super consistent on this shot and I was wondering what % this is and if you'd do this comfortably in a money match!
@DrawShotTV Жыл бұрын
I messed up on my first attempt but made it several times after. I would say, depending on the situation, it’s fairly high percentage.

I call it a carom but I’ve heard it called a tik - Probably spelled wrong
@ThePrufessa Жыл бұрын
Dr Dave calls it a ticky tack or something like that. Carom is the most common. Novices will call it something along the lines of "my ball off the rail off the three ball in the corner" because they play call your shot instead of ball and pocket. When I first started looking at it years and years ago I was thinking of it as squeezing the object ball between the rail and the blocker. So I still call it a squeeze shot but mainly only to myself. In league games we just say 14 ball corner pocket and don't worry about the semantics.
@jeffp6014 Жыл бұрын
@@ThePrufessa when you said squeeze you made me think if the rare situation where the blocker is slightly less than a balls width away from the rail. I learned that you can squeeze your object ball behind the blocker by shooting firm into the rail. That creates enough just enough space to make the shot.
@ThePrufessa Жыл бұрын
@@jeffp6014 probably more applicable to that situation. I've never tried that. Thanks for the advice!! Something new to add to my arsenal!!
@ThePrufessa Жыл бұрын
@@jeffp6014 that's like the bank shot where you hit it firm to compress the rail in order to give the ball just enough space to avoid double hitting the cue ball.
