I recently purchased my first Indian, a 2019 Leftover Chief Vintage. Never expected to be able to own such a nice bike. I have had Harleys, Triumphs, all the major metric bikes and nothing prepared me for the Indian. I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Can't say enough about it.

My dad bought one of these for himself back for on Xmas, and he loves that thing. I have ridden quite a few times myself, and its a very smooth yet powerful bike. We've changed a few things on it (cause we can never leave anything alone) but we changed the bars, speakers( cause who doesn't like more sound?) it also has an intake, and a tune from Indian, and also aftermarket slip ons from tab. Overall, he loves it and doesn't regret buying it 10/10 WE recommend this bike!

So, having been an Indian owner (had a Chieftain for about 6 months loved it, just get bored quick with bikes) and becoming a salesman at our local dealer for Indian, I was excited about the Challenger. Didn't test ride one until February, after about 5-6 months of having the Chieftain. I was blown away. Initial impressions on the looks were slowly growing on me. But what it can do speaks for what the bike is. Sport touring performance (almost) in an American V-Twin.

Same. I was so pumped while leaks were coming out last summer, but was disappointed when I saw the finished product. But it has been growing on me. I think the thing I like the least is the side profile, in particular the tank shape. It just looks... too muscular. Like it is overcompensating. I'm assuming that is because it's their "muscle" bike.

I really like the windshield on my '18 Chieftain. I usually raise it while on the highway and lower it while riding around town. But being able to move it up and down is a big advantage as you learn to use it for each situation you may find yourself in.

I love my 2018 - 116 Chieftain limited but when I test rode the challenger I was blown away. The shifter is so smooth the gear change and the ride is amazing they’ve done a really good job with this bike. Way better than the other bikes the industry would say are in the same class.

Not sure if someone said it but the noise might have been in the heads. I’ve noticed it on the scout and my challenger. Barely hear it with exhaust. I came away from my test ride really impressed with the bike. So much so, I might make it my next ride after I pay off my Bobber. As for the noise, I dont recall anything from the demo bike I rode but on the forums some owners are talking about it. It seems that its coming from the primary, also that test bike may not have had the throttle bodies re-sinked. Dont quote me on the exact verbiage thought. For me, the bars felt good but I could see how bigger guys would hate them. Im 5'8 30in inseam and felt very comfortable on the bike. Excellet review sir, now get on that FTR lol. I was hoping to get to a Harley dealer event in my area this weekend to I can test ride some bikes for my channel, unfortunately it going to have to wait. I like seeing channels explore other brands of bikes. Ride safe bro.

I’ve always really appreciated the fit and finish on what Indian has been putting out. Now this is my opinion coming from a Triumph Scrambler owner so smaller motorcycle, but something about Indian baggers seems to be more approachable to me than the road or street glides. And I think it’s from a combination of ergonomics and price points.

I am a Harley-Davidson rider. I have owned 3 Harley-Davidson bikes in my lifetime, an 88,96, and the new 107 cubic inch Milwaukee 8 street glide. Indian Motorcycles have caught my eye big time with their maintenance free design and ease of doing oil changes, gear drive primarily, single oil fill, and fully counter balanced engine. The push button start of both the oil/air & now the liquid cooled challenger is miles ahead of Harley-Davidson in smoothness as well as full LED lighting. By the time I ride out my 2017 Harley-Davidson I am sure Harley-Davidson will come out with a motorcycle similar in function, technology, and cooling as Indian.

Nice review Blockhead. I guess the throttle issue is to be expected, I mean it is a bagger. I'm guessing it would be an awesome bike to talk on long road trips! 1:20 "when you compare with the other bike" hmmm, what bike could he be talking bout? :)

I just demo ride this bike yesturday and coming from a Kawasaki concours rider i can tell you that i was blown away by the torque of the bike power and comfort if i had the money (because yes the price on this bike is steep for me 35,000 can) but if i ever buy another bagger this bike beat the Harley road glide for me great video bro. ride safe

Side by side, and class by class, I don’t think there’s any modern Harley model that I would spend my money on over any of the modern Indian models.

Love the big screen in forefront of gauges. Nice plenty of power from the factory the way it should be. Why do you have to buy different stages from a competitor that should be offered from the factory.

Totally TOTALLY agree. Let's see, buy a Harley and then drop another 5 or 6 grand to get the bike you really want....

I think the idle sound you heard was the rear cylinder de-activating to dissipate heat. It's designed that way. You can supposedly shut it off in the infotainment system.

I’m getting ready to test ride one tomorrow. Nervous, and excited 😂. I’ve never been on a bike with a fairing. It makes the bike look bigger then what it really is. Orlando, man🤔, that would REALLY make me nervous to ride. I’ll be test riding one in Ocala. So far this is my dream bike. I’m new to the motorcycle world. Just got my license roughly a month ago now. I know how to ride just fine, just wasn’t legal to do so🤷🏽‍♂️😁. I’m SO ready. LET’S GO!! And DANG, they let you take it out like that, wow 😯.

I think it reminds me more of a Victory Vision than a road glide. I can see owning one of these down the road. I'm digging that cockpit view. One thing Harley does better is the finish of say items like the inner fairing and controls, that gloss black on their inner fairing of the Roadglide special looks really high end. If Indian upped their game in that dept it would be a perfect bike. Perhaps its the colors they chose but it gives it more of a cheaper, plastic look. A minor gripe though for sure.

The noise you herd was the rear cylinder reengaging it shuts down when you stop or if your in stop and go traffic you can disengage it in the touch screen Block do such great reviews I would like to see a good one on the 2020 Springfield dark horse compared to Harley road king special .

I have been on demo day and rode the challenger. Super nice bike. Super comfortable and love that windshield. The only thing is it sounds metric. But not smooth like a Honda. Kinda clanky rattling sound from the engine. I own a Harley and the motor on my bike sounds so much more solid. There is no noise from my engine, just the rumble from the exhaust. But I would by a challenger as a second bike. It was super smooth on the interstate.

The dash layout reminds me of more of the goldwing. But it is a cool bike. If I was looking for a full dresser I would look at one.

I have a 2020 Street Glide Special and I love it, but Indian does some things that I really like. Indian from the factory, I think, comes ready to ride without much customization needed. It has premium breaks, better suspension, especially in the front end. I also like the setup of the infotainment system better, it is much more intuitive and user friendly. I do think that if you are buying a bike and you want to customize it and make it yours the Harley is the better option there is more aftermarket applications for the Harley.

You're bang on with that one. Definitely more aftermarket support but Indian under Polaris is still young so I'm sure that will grow too. But for the equal amount of money Indian does really give way more from the factory. Suspension alone compared to Harley
