Thank you for this wonderful plugin! Could you please consider the following UI/UX feedback; 1. In "Synth" mode, after I tweak a preset (ie. change the cutoff) then change presets, I get a popup: "Your current preset has been changed. When switching to a new preset without saving, all changes will be lost" - This popup appears all the time and I can't see a way to disable it permanently. 2. In the "Presets" screen, sometimes the keyboard up and down keys to navigate presets don't work. (Logic Pro) 3. In "Synth" view, I would love to change presets using the left / right arrows on my keyboard. (Some other plugins use this functionality - ie. Sylenth) 4. In the "Synth" view preset name window, the left / right arrows are too small and too close to each other so it's difficult to change presets. 5. In the "Presets" browser, there is no way to sort the list by "Tags" 6. In Synth mode, I would like cycle through oscillator types, wavetables, filter types and all dropdown menus etc by hovering over the type and using the scroll wheel. It's extremely tedious to open the wavetable menu, then click again to select a wavetable, then repeat this 50 times to test different wavetables. Same for filters. While hovering over the field, ie."Lowpass 12db" I would like to scroll through the filters without having to constantly click to open the menu. Thank you!

Couple of other suggestions 1) add the ability to mark presets as favourites 2) show the name of the sample when selected as an oscillator, currently it just says 'sample' 3) let us see the list of available samples in a dropdown when selecting the sample oscillator, like how it is with wavetables, currently it opens up the sample browser

There’s a lot of toxicity in here. Waldorf are a way smaller company than Arturia so with development time & costs they may not have the option to release for free. That they have made this compatible with the hardware is to be applauded. Much like the Microwave app & plug in. And it’s ultimately really simple, vote with your wallets. Either buy it because you think it’s great to have a lovely editor and the benefit of it being available in your DAW. Or don’t buy it. 👍🏼

there is no toxicity here. there are just many people who believe and love Waldorf. I have a Blofeld and it is a great instrument as a synthesizer. but after so many years it still works with a lot of errors, software and hardware. And at first I treated it as some kind of feature. But at some point I got my hands on preenfm2 and despite the fact that it is a DIY project it is made head and shoulders above in all respects. This is very depressing regarding Waldorf. After all, a synthesizer is not tomatoes at the market, it is a philosophy of choice and a little bit of a subcultural phenomenon for inspiration.

True, but Waldorf poisoned the water .... waited years for a decent editor but no show form Waldorf, but hey they can release a plugin and try and milk me for £100. As you say I will vote with my wallet, no sale, treating existing customers like this is shocking and i hope they go out of business.

I've just bought the plugin and it won't even launch in Reason 13. I get a "MIDI input about to overflow!" message and it crashes Reason 13. Not a good start! Reply

Has anybody who purchased this been able to control the Hardware as of yet? I tried both in Ableton and Reaper and no luck - the choice to output to Blofeld (hardware) does not work, yet the hardware can be sent midi notes via USB MIDI in the DAWs…a standalone version of the software would have been nice as well!🙃

@@donkeroo1 yes I have the solution- are you on Mac ? go to your hidden library.. than build a folder manually in : Library - Audio - Presets - ``Waldorf`` - in`` Waldorf`` Folder a second Folder "Blofeld " than restart system and it should work.

Sadly it’s not that easy. I believe that the developer took the code so Waldorf don’t have the access to it. Whether they can work together is another question and we can all live in hope. And who knows how easy it is to compile code for the DSP chip in 2024 that’s long since out of production. Again, we can hopefully see this plug in as a potential step forward towards a final OS update.

@@ikarugamoo and thats why they will fall... this is the worst marketing strategy i have seen in years. Sad for the people working here... They could sell tons of blofelds if they continued to give users some updates... I use this synth since 2008 (desktop and keyboard), look at there software named spectre, i can do better in 2 weeks of code, wtf we are in 2024...

@@ikarugamoo Waldorf a smaller company ? No, they are just falling cause of such bad marketing strategies. They could use all the open source engines you can find freely to make a cool granular update and so much more, they didn't move a finger since 2018 for this gem synth and this is sad really. I feel bad for the guys working in this compagny. Look at there 'spectre', i could code this bad software of 90s in 1 week or 2 and it will be far better than this... I just bought a sl license for my second blofeld, explain to me why i had to mail them for the unlocking file of my synth... come on we are in 2024 (WTF Waldorf, i pay 100$ and you cant make an automation system...). I love you Waldorf, but plz stop doing shit, you could sell tons of blofelds, kyras (another gem) and more...

Hi Has anyone actually managed to transfer a preset bank or group within the Blofeld Plugin FROM the Blofeld Plugin TO the Blofeld hardware? If so it would be very helpful, and appreciated, if you could explain the steps to do this.

@ thanks for your reply. I’m pretty sure you simply can’t at the moment. The only workaround is to have the vst change all parameters on the hardware and do it patch by patch, saving the changed state of the patch on the hardware, naming it on the hardware etc. That’s very time consuming for more than a couple of patches. We need to be able to send Sysex patches and banks from inside the VST to the hardware. (And exporting from the VST to your computer doesn’t work because it only exports as the new .BPZ format - which the hardware won’t read).

I just imported one of the old libraries - Alien Vanguard. There are some serious pitching issues and sound out of tune, I think it may be to do with the samples. Another one I have - Electric Body Machinery - worked absolutely fine.

Just popped back to say that if you make sure your project is at 44.1Khz then everything is tune if a library uses the HGF Blofeld Waveset.

It’s so hard to feel good about Waldorf these days, everything they do just feels like an insult to longtime customers. Largo 2 was the final nail for me. I did come to have a look though, and it turned out to be a 15 minute tutorial about a preset browser… I love the Blofeld but in a few years this will be abandoned like most of their other software.

Horrible AI voice! I've been a PPG/Waldorf fan since the original Wave in the 80s but the presentation on this is dismal. I'll probably buy the software though....
