Azraqi” (D. 864), in his book, “History of Mecca”, which is probably the oldest available book, written about Mecca that we know, writes down some quotations in a chapter titled “the events about the reconstruction of Kaaba by Quraysh”: At the time of ignorance in Mecca there were many pictures and images inside Kaaba, one of them was of Jesus Christ and Lady Mary (PBUT). Jesus Christ (PBUH) was sitting on his mother’s lap in that picture. The house of Kaaba was in this condition until the 8th year after Hegira when Muslims entered Mecca, and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ordered all the idols inside of the House of Kaaba to be broken. When Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) entered the house, and observed the images, he ordered to remove all the images and pictures inside the Kaaba, except the images of Jesus Christ and Lady Mary (PBUT), which he pointed out and ordered not to be removed and the images remained in the House of Kaaba. Until they were removed at the time the second Caliph Umar-ibn-Khattab. In another chapter Azraqi wrote down that there was a woman from “Ghusan”, who came to Mecca to perform Hajj. She was impressed by watching this pictures and said to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that you are a real Arab. Thus Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ordered all the images to be removed except the pictures of Lady Mary and Jesus Christ (PBUT). This question may arise that if the house of Kaaba was regarded as the place of idols, how was it then that the images of Jesus Christ and Lady mary (PBUT) were hung in this House? The answer is that the one of the reasons that Arabic people in the age of ignorance placed their idols at the House of Kaaba, was that they regarded the idols as their intercessors before god and in fact these idols were mediators between the god and the people.

It is perhaps even worse than suggest. There have been some Catholics who have identified Mary with the Holy Spirit. In the Orthodox Church Sergius Bulgakov identified her with "Sophia", who is perhaps divine or semi-divine. There are ancient Catholic Hymns which speak of Mary as "our sweetness and our hope" (Salve Regina). I have always been uncomfortable with describing Mary as "our hope". Surely only God is our hope? However, I understand what our Catholic friends would say that that.

Koran 5:116 is one of the reasons *I rejected Islam* many years ago. Interestingly where in the Koran does *Allah **_mention_** the Holy Spirit as one entity of the Trinity* ? After all Allah accuses the Christians to worship three gods. God, Jesus, Mary and Holy Spirit now are all (so the accusation it seems) gods in Christianity especially Roman Catholicism. If one wants to *form a trinity out of these four beings* it would be necessary that one is left out, but please keep in mind that the Holy Spirit is also accepted as *ONE OF THREE in the trinity*.

First of All you need to understand what "إله" means in Islam. You often see Christians say "O mary Help us" which is very wrong since this attribution can only be applied to god not a mortal. The moment you apply godly attributes to someone then he will be called god or "إله" in Islam and that what christians did to Mary. So thats why Allah said Mary as god or "إله" here since Christians pray and ask help from her.

Mr. Paul, first of all I would like to thank you for these important videos. There is a similarity in the Qur’an by using the word “take” in Verse (45:23) " Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire" , and Verse (5:116) "And when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah ?". indicating what you affirm that this does not necessarily mean declaring someone as god, but rather giving him the status of God by obeying him and adhering to his commands.

Because Jesus is God and Lord. He is the king of kings and prince of peace. Mothers of Kings and Princes are called Queens. Excellent review in the issue of Tawhid which is the central core of Islamic monotheism. Infact if you look at the issue of Shirk( joining partners with Allah) , it has a very wide range of manifestations such that the Prophet (SAW) said shirk can be as subtle or inconspicuous as a dark ant on a dark rock in the dark night. So Allah has also said that inclining to ones desire can lead to shirk or as a god in chapter 45 verse 23.

No true Muslims worships or pray to Hz. Imam Ali or Hz. Prophet Muhammad. Only some Sufis and ghulāt/ghulaw among some Shi'a Muslims do this, and if they do this, they fall outside Islamic orthodoxy. Mainstream Sufis and Shias do not do this, and it is forbidden in numerous Shia and Sufi books to pray to anyone or thing besides God. However, that being said, I must disagree with your wording of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Hz Ali (KAW) being dead in the sense that you seem to argue that the Prophets and righteous ones are somehow spiritually dead and unconscious in the grave. The Qur'an makes very clear in two ayāt that the blessed martyrs (shuhada) are alive with their Lord (Rabb), so obviously since Hz. Ali is one of the most revered figures for all Muslims except for the accused Nusaybis, and he was also martyred, then this applies to him---he is alive in the barzakh, in what exact form Allahu alim, Allah knows best. Likewise this also applies to all the Holy Prophets of Allah (SWT), may His peace and blessings be upon them all. Since all Muslims believe that the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) jas the highest afdhal (rank) and maqam (station) of any of the prophets, then obviously any liveliness or consciousness that we would apply to Hz. Ali or any of the Prophets before Muhammad (SAW) logically applies to Prophet Muhammad, too. It is the mainstream, orthodox position of all major ulama of Ahlus-Sunnah wa Jamaa (Sunni Islam) as well as all Shia schools that the Holy Prophets *are* spiritually alive and conscious in the grave-life (barzakh). One can and should love and respect all the Prophets, the Imams, righteous Companions, and the Awliyya'uLlah, but one must be aware that while Allah (SWT) can indeed accept intercession from any of these holy men and women (as the Holy Qur'an says "Who may intercede with Allah except by His Permission", the word being bidhniLlah in Arabic), it is only by Allah's Permission that any intercession may benefit the person. It is a very ancient and mainstream Sunni (as well as Shia) belief that one may ask Allah for something, be it forgiveness, mercy, guidance, or a specific thing, through the wasila (means) of the love Allah has for a particular Prophet, Imam, Companion, or Wali. One can say "Ya Allah, by the love You have for Prophet Muhammad and his Family and Companions, forgive me/bless me/strengthen me, etc." This is totally fine. One may also address any of the Prophets, Imams, or Awliyya'uLlah and ask their aid *bidhniLlah*, by Allah's grace and permission. If one believes the Prophets, Imams, and Companions are utterly spiritually dead and unconscious in the barzakh, then one can be labelled as a heretic from an orthodox Sunni as well as a Shia view.

Amazing video Sir. But I would really like to share some insight on the point you have made at 07:15, indeed it is “deep stuff”. Because Quran 4:116 “ Indeed, Allah does not forgive association with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whom He wills. And he who associates others with Allah has certainly gone far astray.” And Islamic Scholars have greatly written on this subject and still this as a particular subject “shirk-association” has a lot of significance, in the sense that it is greatly discussed and debated. Even within Muslims there are sects which are basically due difference of opinion because it is not easy how u separate God from the whole Universe that he has set in motion (Nizam-e-Qudrat or the nature of nature) well I can’t explain that in English due to lack of words. But Quran explains this phenomenon, as it always does by setting two extremes or duality model for our comprehension so at one extreme Quran denounces those who worship idols and make idols of the saints of God and on the other hand Quran mentions : Quran 42:23 “Have you seen he who has taken as his god his [own] desire, and Allah has sent him astray due to knowledge and has set a seal upon his hearing and his heart and put over his vision a veil? So who will guide him after Allah ? Then will you not be reminded?“ Indeed deep stuff, May Allah help us all in making things simpler and understandable and May Allah guide us all. a keyword here I think is the word used for Servant in Arabic, it is عبد. it is composed with three letters, the first one is Ain (source) means the recipient may it be for light like the eye or the understanding for the heart (standing is with the brain). The second letter is the baa, (internal) meaning that such source is the basis, the foundation and the house. The third letter is the dal (direction) it is the direction you take once you have internalized a specific source. That what entails the word عبد or servant in Arabic.

The Roman Catholics not only refer to Mary as the Mother of God but they actually worship her. When you go to their churches you the statue of Mary along side the statue of Jesus and they go on their knees before them crying, asking for what ever need before them, which is an act reserved for GOD and GOD only. So actually and physically, the Christians worship Jesus and Mary. I have not seen or heard where the Holy spirit is physically worshipped. Though it is a sin to say trinity but it is a biggest sin to actually kneel down before the statue of Jesus and Mary and ask for forgiveness of your sin, help and all acts reserved for GOD and only GOD. the concept and term of idolatry in Islam is different from other religion, and this is where the Christian misunderstanding the accusation. Looks.., simply asking and obeying a king too much already falls to idolatry without declaring him a god. But from Islam point of view, it's already putting some one in the same level of God.. Because you give them attribute which only belongs to god. Even for something which seems less significant than that. For example. for a muslim, where he should perform salat in a certain time. But then his girl friend says that he shouldn't perform salat. If that muslim obeys the girl, that's already falls to idolatry.., even putting his girl above Allah. He obeys the girl to rebel toward Allah. The same the jews and nasharas did in the past. They forbid what Allah allows, and they did what Allah forbid them to do, by changing the rule and the law. So to those who follow this people of books (monks) who changing the law is already falls to idolaty. They follows the monks and abandon Allah. Now back to accusation about putting Mary as god beside Allah. Simply by glorifying her meanwhile abandoning what Allah tells them to do and what they shouldn't do, that alone already putting Mary above Allah. Basically, they mock Allah by glorifying others. And it doesn't have to be in the term of God literally. but substantially, they indeed put Marry in the condition similar to idolatry. Even saying Mary as a wife for Allah, remember they also said that son god and the father god is Allah as one, and now marry is the mother. what are you calling that except putting marry in the same level with Allah. if their logic is still healthy, they should realize, by saying the son god and father god as one, they are saying Mary is the mother of Allah. There's no fitnah greater than that. Accusing Allah to have a wife, to have a son which also himself at the same time and having a mother which also his wife in the same time. He is the son and he is the father, so Marry is the mother and the wife of god at the same time. how could some one so dumb to come up with such crazy idea and there are people who are far dumber believing and worshipping such kind of god??!

Benar pak, sebenernya saya juga mempelajari ke kristenan dan mohon maaf menurut saya mereka menyembah petinggi gereja bukan Tuhan. Saya beranalogi begini juga karena bingung bible mereka sendiri mereka langgar dan perintah paus mereka patuhi. Kalau anggapan mereka paus adalah rasul justru ini tambah membingungkan, analogi sederhananya kenapa rasul mengubah kitab suci pemberian tuhan?

That's insightful. In fact, Islamic monotheism strictly discourages even any crypto-gods & pseudo-gods whether it is money or wealth or power or any other earthly things. So, according to that purely monotheistic religion, unquestionably Mary, the mother of Jesus, shouldn't be treated as a member of that god-family, whether she is formally venerated or not. Thank you, brother.

6:40 Paul got the jargon down, wow! ^_^ And Spudgy Pang, I think, he's getting the concept of faith & hopefully the religion of God :) I never stopped praying & believing in this guy. He's relentless in seeking the truth, and deep inside, I always knew (or was so optimistic, at least) that he'd get it. I just wanted to be around to witness it. And all praise be to Allah, the seeds of hope are sprouting :)
