For anyone looking for an honest opinion about these they were actually pretty good. My suggestion is to put the yogurt on the inside instead for less mess. They are also really good with blueberries instead of banana on the INSIDE, because they have more of a natural sugary flavor. But other than that to my surprise their actually delicious!

I made these yesterday morning and the batter turned out fine, but I could not for the life of me flip these. My non-stick pan was sufficiently greased, but they broke up each time I tried to move them in the pan. I tried flipping them in the air, but they jut folded in on themselves. In the end, I just cup up the cooked batter pieces and mixed them together with the banana and strawberries, then topped it with melted pb, some honey, and a dollop of nf greek yogurt. They were still delicious, but looked like a scrambled mess on the plate! lol

Rebecca Peace I'm vegetarian (but allergic to milk and I have been leaning toward the vegan side for some time now) and I've been eating vegan pancakes for some days now (had some yesterday, actually). You can replace the eggs by adding some water to the oats, stirring it up a bit and then letting it sit until the water becomes quite thick before adding in the other ingredients (that works fine for me). Also, to help hold the ingredients together even more, you could use some flour. If you're looking for gluten-free flour, run some uncooked oats through a dry blender until they form a powder. That is oat flour. Another alternative is purchasing some chickpea flour (or you could buy already prepared oat flour). Hope I could help.

Are those the calories for one crepe or all of them
@TheZeZeMe10 жыл бұрын
How did you calculate that this was 250 calories, Cassey? With a calorie machine? Because 1 egg is 72 cals, 1 banana is 105 cals, 1/3 cup of oats is 150 cals, 1/4 cup of almond milk is 10 cals, and 4 strawberries are 16 cals, all together equaling 353 calories. Can someone please explain how the calories could drastically go down?
@JackieOnyon10 жыл бұрын
The eggs I have are only 70 cal/ea and the oats I use were only 127 cal for 1/3 cup dry. I also subbed stevia for 2 tsp of honey and mine came out around 365 cal for all 3. Looks like the oats you're using have a higher calorie count than most, or at least the ones she must have used, but yes, still more than 250. I use Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Rolled Oats. If you add topping such as the honey and greek yogurt, they're even more.
@misoandramen10 жыл бұрын
Depending on the size of the banana, one banana can range from 60 to 100 calories. Your oats are very high in calories o_o as well.

I wonder, why most healthy video's contain coconutoil or spray for cooking? For flavour? Cause it contains a lot of saturated fats. Even if you are using it in small amounts, it still is saturated fat.. I study to be a dietician and my teachers do not recommend it at all.
@jenniferubyjanee9 жыл бұрын
its so the crepe doesnt stick on the pan and is easier to flip
@graceisonline9 жыл бұрын
Hannelore Verhelst It is BECAUSE coconut oil is primarily a saturated fat that it is used in most health videos for cooking. Unlike other oils that are classified as unsaturated fats, which oxidize with high heat, coconut oil remains stable at higher temperatures. This is seen as beneficial for the purposes of both health and taste. Hope that clarifies things!
@piggiesmile9 жыл бұрын
I have asked my teachers about this again, and they explained why some people think coconut is benificial over other products. There is indeed a small part about it that would be "better", but none of them would reccommend using it anyway. Still, it remains saturated fats..
@dogsarebetter9 жыл бұрын
Hannelore Verhelst saturated fat has never been conclusively proven to be harmful. Plus the fats on coconut oil are medium chain, and super easy for your body to break down.
@siramea9 жыл бұрын
Hannelore Verhelst coconut oil remains controversial but most people now consider it a healthier alternative that may even promote weight loss- the fats are medium-chain fatty acids which are metabolised differently - going straight to the liver to use as energy.

@diannaweaver76249 жыл бұрын
+Tripura Sundari i'm a coupon using, meal planning, budget watching maniac, so for me this is very useful. Knowing the calories and the price helps me to decide if its worth the bother because chances are the ingredients will be used to make this several times over for several people. Doing the math to calculate the quantities is sort of a no brainer at my house.
@ladiimpoa9 жыл бұрын
my thoughts exactly. where in the world is that possible. smh
@diannaweaver76249 жыл бұрын
Its a mathematical equation. Take the price of the ingredients divide the quantities of servings and then you can establish the cost per meal. If you are using eggs you take the price of the eggs and divide by the number of eggs in the carton to determine the price of 1 egg. Etc. By the time you figure out how much it actually costs you to make the meal for # of people in a family serving; you save tons of money. If you introduce coupons, track your local grocers weekly sales ad and shop accordingly you can freeze and stock up on items when they are at their lowest sales price. Its not that hard, you just have to make up your mind to do it. Its like dieting, you either count calories and watch your macros or you don't bother and you pay the price.

How can your batter be so strong. I made it exactly like you, but mine fall apart. I can't even flip it with a spatula let alone flipping it without it. So mine kinda turn out like a big dough ball, but just cover it with banana and strawberries. They taste amazing though! love them

That's what happened to me! I did the same thing, just mixed it all together in the end. Still delicious, but not pretty.
